some interesting comments in John's blog today about the Pens and the "C":
http://www.hockeybuzz.com...e-outside-world/150/44057 - ggunky
I got into it with a Pens fan at the midway point of the season when we learned Pronger was gone. This is probably the only pens fan I ever got into an argument with too. I told him the leadership on this Flyers team was still fine, threw out some names one of them being talbot. He told me Talbot doesn't show up in the second half of the season, is over hyped in leadership and they replaced him with Vitale and Asham. I really wish I could find out what he thinks now |

If all things are equal we could out score just about anyone left, but all things arent equal. If we try to out score the Rangers, and Lundquist plays way better then Bryz, that wont work for us, so no, I dont try and just dare teams to outscore us... - RooNosHockey
My only point was if they implement a differentnt style of play where they're trying to win games 2-1 against Lundquist it might bite them in the arse. If they open it up and make the Rangers have to score 4 to win I like their chances. It's a double edged sword, it will be interesting to watch how it plays out. |

Being that Philadelphia can easily outscore anyone that's left do you see them keeping this style of game going or tightening up? I think they should just let it loose and dare teams to try and outscore them. - canadianpenfan
Isn't that what Pittsburgh did? |

If they do that, they aren't going to outscore the Bruins or Rangers, hence they lost all games to Rangers this season and struggled with the Bruins. |

Adam Jones is tearing it up for my fantasy team. - PLindbergh31
He's a very good mistake hitter.
Why anyone throws him anything near the plate is a mystery. |

I agree with the point that the Pen's Orginization is the greater issue, not so much the guys in the locker room.
If there is one thing we learned, being Flyers fans, it is that an Orginization protecting the player(s) from the media usually doesn't work out well when the heat is turned up on that player(s). (Richards)

If they play Ottawa, they'll have to win some low scoring games to win the Series. If they play the Rangers, Boston, or Ottawa, the Flyers will at times struggle to score goals. And will have to play a tight defensive game with good goaltending to move on. - MJL
I dont agree about Ottawa. I think Anderson has played great, but NY is really struggling to score. They arent getting traffic in front of the net... Just not cutting it. Ottawa's defense and goaltending will come back to earth and show why they were 24th in the league in goals against a game when the Flyers go to play them... |

Did I hear Howard was done for the season the other day? Haven't been keeping up with Baseball much so far... |

We'll see. It'll come down to Bryz. I'm not saying give up a bunch of odd-man rushes or anything like that, but use our team speed to go high-octane. A lot is going to depend on whether or not our PP continues to click. And Thomas doesn't scare me anywhere near as much as Lundqvist. |

I think below average NHL goaltending versus excellent NHL goaltending had much to do with the Flyers struggles against NY and Beantown. |

If the Flyers play the Rangers, and I was Coach, I try and shut down Gaborik, Callahan and Richards, and let my 2-3 other scoring lines out score the Rangers secondary scoring... But the defense is ket against thier top line/s. |

Yup only Bryzgalov and Bobrovsky let bad goals. |

They will also score more goals against the Flyers than the Rangers. I do hope they meet because it will be a very entertaining series. |

They tried that against the penguins. I don't think NY has the Firepower, but they will definitely slow down the Flyers and counter attack. The Flyers better play like they did in game 6 or show is over if they try the run and gun stuff. Do that and don't whine about goaltending. |

Without looking I'm going to guess Giroux has as many pints as all 3 of them put together. They are not a dangerous offensive team. |
