I think the Flyers when playing their best can beat any team in the league. However I also think w/the injuries they've battled this year they will need a little bit of "luck" and have at least one of the Rangers or Bruins knocked off by another team.
- flyguy12

They could beat either but you're right, they would be bruised and battered by the time they came out of that.

Being that Philadelphia can easily outscore anyone that's left do you see them keeping this style of game going or tightening up? I think they should just let it loose and dare teams to try and outscore them.

I question their offensive capability. If I'm in charge of devising a game plan to beat them it's to fight fire with fire here. Don't force anything because they are opportunistic. In that I mean they play so well defensively that they just wait for you to make a mistake by growing impatient and then make you pay for it.

Sure they can turn up the pressure, but it's nothing like a team like the Penguins can do. If the Flyers can hold them to one goal in a game then they should be able to do it to the rangers, by being patient like I said. They make mistakes too and give up odd man rushes but you gotta get them behind in the score. The Flyers have shown they can put 3 up on them, but they gotta take their time.

Three players who scored more than 20+ goals.

Gaborik is the engine that makes them go offensively. Have to stop him and you can control the scoring output.

Theres a reason they rely on playing good defense.

Yeah, no way I win going down that road (who wants to be Marcie?), so I'm going to apologize for my mistake, note the 'diva' in your name, and address you properly from now on.

They're a good counter punching team, u don't go into those kind of fights throwing haymakers and expect to win.

One plus they'd have going against the Rags now is that they have all the confidence in the world to place Coots against the top line, freeing up better matchups for the rest of the team.

I have watched every game in that series and both goaltenders have been fantastic.

I think that would be a huge mistake and would be playing right into the hands of teams such as Boston and the Rangers.

Flyers have to get pucks deep and pound the defenseman. Make smart decisions and stay patient. Flyers have to understand that winning a game 2-1, 3-2, 1-0 is just fine. They dont have to score 5, 6 or 7 goals.

I am ready to face who ever. This season is already a win in my book. I didn't think the team would be as good as they were. I think beating Pitt the way they did was awesome. If we can make it to the cup that is great. If we win, even better. However, I love this team. Doesn't matter if we play NY, Boston or NJ. This team will show up ready to play. They may not win, but you will see a team compete to it's fullest unlike last year.

Yes, which is why I said we'd be looking at more games like 3-2, versus some of the scores in the Pens games. More games like game 5.
- MJL

I agree we will see 3-2 games if we face the Rangers, Boston, or even Jersey... But I dont think Ottawa, Washington, or Florida has the defensive depth or goaltending that can keep up with 4 scoring lines. Rangers, Boston, and Jersey have the defense and goaltending, the others dont... So like I said... I like my chances with still being able to put up good numbers against ottawa, florida, and washington...

Meszaros is practicing in full equiptment for the first time since his back surgery, however he is in a no contact jersey.

Grossmann skated with the black aces, not with the regulars.

Plenty of time still before we even have to play a game. Good news that both players are on the ice though.

If they play Ottawa, they'll have to win some low scoring games to win the Series. If they play the Rangers, Boston, or Ottawa, the Flyers will at times struggle to score goals. And will have to play a tight defensive game with good goaltending to move on.

I'll be surprised, but happy if Grossmann is ready to go in game 1 of round 2. I think he's going to miss some time in that round. I hope I'm wrong about that.

Fantastic news. Bryz looked looked like a man possessed when everyone was healthy. Mezzy's shot will be a welcomed addition as well.

If all things are equal we could out score just about anyone left, but all things arent equal. If we try to out score the Rangers, and Lundquist plays way better then Bryz, that wont work for us, so no, I dont try and just dare teams to outscore us...

Depends. Matt Read returned in less of a window than Grossmann has before Game 1 of Round 2. With a concussion, you never know how a player bounces back from it.

I would think Meszaros is still a ways off. Probably at least two weeks.
