This.

I don't think the Flyers will score 8 goals in back to back games again, but to compare weak offensive teams to the Flyers is missing the mark. The Flyers were at least 50% of the equation in why Fleury looked so bad, and to not give them any credit is lame.

And they were firing around 60% on the PP as well...but I guess that's not because the Flyers are good, it's because of how bad the Pens, who were third in the league in PK efficiency during the season, were.

Got it.

I disagree. It's been all Anderson. He's stolen all 3 games the Senators have won.

It's a regular season award, so even though Holmgren made fantastic trades, Flyers went from 107 points last season, to 103 points this year. The GM's up for the award generally are from teams who improve in the Standings from the previous season. I do not necessarily agree with that, but that's the way it works.

Also, what would they even say? "Boy you really fleeced Columbus & LA! What a bunch of jagaloons." they aren't gonna throw other teams under the bus.

No I mean Anderson. He's stopped 99 of 103 shots in the Senators wins, for a .961 save %. If Bryzgalov does anything close to that against the Rags, the Flyers win the series easily.

Best Clement quote ever.

"He was in there like a blood crazed weasel in a hen-house."

Classic.

Holmgren made two very good hockey trades. That being said, he kinda lucked into Couturier due to the Islanders, and Jets incompetent front offices.

Surprisingly the team I feel the most trepidation about playing is the Bruins. Their size scares me a bit more than other teams in the East.

I really feel that, all things being equal, we can beat the Rangers. Both teams will be on equal footing as far as scheduling goes, none of this getting a rested Rangers team on the 3rd game in 4 nights stuff.

Also, while the Rangers do boast a much better defensive team than the Penguins, I think the Flyers forwards can handle them physically if they play the way they did on the fore check against the Penguins. And offensively they are not the Penguins, who can score almost at will.

It by no means will be a walkover by either team, though talking to some Rangers fans they think it will be. In some ways it would be an "opposite game" against the Rangers, much harder to score, but a little easier to defend against.

I seriously don't care who they play. Any of the teams will be a challenge, but I don't "fear" any of the teams in the east.

I don't see why he cant post very good numbers against the Rangers. The Flyers will need to play defense the same way they did against Pittsburgh in game six.

Well provided Grossmann will likely be back, coupled with a week off to heal some bumps and bruises I don't see why they can't do it. As Bill pointed out in his blog, the key to defeating the Rangers is playing with the lead. Once you get behind, it's hard to comeback against them.

Between Lucic trying to kill guys and Marchands antics Boston is the team I want to see least. After that is the Rags, but solely because of Henrick. After that I'm feeling pretty good about any other possible matchup.

I think it's imperative the Flyers do not have to play both the Rangers, and Bruins. That is some tough sledding.
