I thought it was the first 2 rounds are local broadcasts and the last 2 rounds are national broadcasts.
- ggunky

That's how it's been in the past and I doubt that teams will be denied their local broadcast because the game is on CNBC.

Is Meszaros perpetually a couple weeks away or what?

I'm guessing we'll play Saturday at the absolute earliest? Perhaps Sunday?

- wolfhounds

Saturday or Sunday are the best guesses right now. The last update on Meszaros was about a week ago, and it said he was 2-4 weeks away from a return. I'm thinking minimum two weeks from today.

What physical tools does he lack? He can skate, pass, and shoot. Because he's not 6'4 225 lbs doesn't mean he can't play. See kimmo timonen. I'm not saying he's going to be as good as timmo but he looks to be pretty good.
- twotoekenn

I never said he couldn't play. Gustafsson is in between. Lacks the physical skills to be a physical defensive defenseman. And isn't as good with the puck to be an offensive defenseman. I think it remains to be seen how good he can be. He played a great game 6. Hope it continues.

Weren't both Boston and the Rangers struggling offensively for the strech drive before the playoffs, and it seems to still be happening. I wouldn't call Washington and Ottawa incredible defensive teams, so to me, it looks like Boston and Rags are struggling offensively, more so then Anderson and Holtby are all of a sudden playing like vesina trophy goalies....
- RooNosHockey

The rest of the League in the playoffs are struggling offensively compared to the Pens/Flyers series. How many games do you think a team is going to score 8 or 10 goals a game against Boston, Rangers, or even Ottawa with the way Anderson is playing?

I don't think so. I'm not really sure though. I don't watch the games on CSN anyway, so it doesn't matter to me. IMO, the CSN broadcasts are absolute clown shows.

Coatesy is obviously a clown, but the rest of the gang is inching that way, unfortunately.

At least when Clement is doing color the games they are somewhat tolerable, I can't deal with Jackson, Coates, and I prefer Jones in the studio.

Jackson is insufferable. I can't listen to him with his dumb cliches. Time for the Flyers to get a new PBP guy. 17 years is plenty long enough.

Jonesy is actually pretty level-headed up there. Jackson is getting worse every night.

I fear no other team.

We can beat anyone if we play to our game 6 level.

I actually would welcome the chance to destroy the Rangers.

Tortorella is the only person I hate more than King Joffrey.

Another part of the puzzle is no team's PP is clicking like the Flyers' did against the Pens. Boston's sucks, again, and I don't think the Rags are capitalizing all that much on the man advantage.

The Flyers have the most dynamic offense left in the POs. It will be interesting to see if someone can shut them down 5 v 5 and with the man advantage.

Who was compairing them with the Flyers series? Boston is getting just over 2 goals per game, and in 3 gamess they only scored 1 goal. The rangers are only getting 2 goals a game. Their scoring is struggling. And neither Ottawa or Washignton are known for their awesome goaltending or shutdown defense...

What would you expect Laviolette to say? There were clearly numerous instances when the Flyers chose Bourdon over Gustafsson. Would you expect the Coach not to endorse a player they need, and after as well as he played in game 6? Gustafsson deserved that with the way he played in that game. Lilja's role is to be a part time 6/7 defenseman. Of course your going to play some of the young kids over him that you deem to be NHL ready.
- MJL

Lavi admits that he rides the hot player. If Bourdon plays well, then Bourdon gets playing time. If Gus plays well, then Gus gets the playing time. I don't think you can take Lavi's decisions this year as an assessment on either players abilities or postiion on the depth chart.

Every team's offense in the playoffs is below 3 goals a game except for the Flyers and Pens. Do you think the Flyers are going to continue to score at the average they did agains the Pens against the other teams? Are the Flyers going to put up 2 8 goal games against those other teams? What your seeing in those other Series is normal playoff Hockey. Which the Flyers/Pens series wasn't the norm. There's going to be more 3-2 games, then 8-5 or 10-3 games.

I didn't bring up the decisions from the regular season. I replied to the poster who did. Of course they're going to play the player who is playing the best. That's why for the time being, Gustafsson is going to continue to play. Like I said earlier, it is about how your playing right now in the playoffs.
