He was a fantastic spectator on many of the Flyers' goals in the series. - Flyskippy
On the Giroux goal...he got a sweet view of it from neutral ice, actually near the red line |

"Life's Not Fair" Moment: My younger sister (who doesn't even follow sports) just met Scott Hartnell and Claude Giroux. What'd I get out of my Tuesday evening? Chinese food. Yeah, guess we know who won . |

all i care is that we can avoid the rags til the conf finals. i think with all of our youth and finally getting fully healthy we could beat a hopefully (by then) worn out rangers. and if someone can take them out of then for us , i welcome that as well. i like our team and i see what holmer and mr snider were saying about feeling good about this team this year and for years to come. the future looks bright. |

I actually dont care about the NJ/FLA series (to watch) but what happened to Theodore? This is probably the worst first round series in the NHL. - stveshdy
did you watch any of that SJ/Blues series? Now that hockey was brutal to watch IMO |

Just sweet and sour chicken. At best it's comparable to meeting Riley Cote, but likely closer to Nick Boynton. |

Just read Ek's blog and didn't want to comment there because the comments in there weren't much for reading imo and not really objective. Anyway I think Homer got the shaft big time. I'm sorry I don't get Poile and Armstrong in over him. They didn't overturn their rosters on the fly (no pun intended), make the playoffs and take out a team favored by vegas oddsmakers to win the cup.
Tallon HAD to pick up all those free agents just to hit the cap floor, his team got better by default.
Armstrong brought in a backup goalie that thrived in Hitch's system wow big surprise there.
None of those guys traded their franchise pieces, one being a captain and then lost the new captain to injury and had their team go onto have the season they did. Those moves last year were riddiculed to death. The Bryzgalov signing is the focal point of criticism in the comments and I think that's total bull poop. The guy set a franchise record this season, finished below his career goals against average and was on a new team. Oh yea and he just outclassed a guy who is a media darling and cup winner that's supposed to be better than him.
I think homer deserves at least a nomination. - JoeRussomanno
The nomination happens before the playoffs. Typically the award goes to a GM that transforms a roster and the team improves dramatically over the prior season. The Flyers actually had fewer points this season. Are they a better team? Yes. But if you aren't watching them every day (and even if you are if you are a Philadelphia sports writer) you probably don't know that.

Backstage at Nickelback. Apparently her boyfriend's father knows the right people. On the bright side, at least I'm not at a Nickelback concert. |

I only know a couple of their songs, but I'd sit through Bush. Otherwise, agreed. Now, if I knew it meant meeting some Flyers I'd be there in a heartbeat |

ok, i'm not sure if everyone remembers, but in the beginning of the year i asked if claude giroux was a top 15 player in the entire nhl. now i ask is he a top 5 player in the entire nhl and where would you rank him. i say number 1. he carried this team all year. he brought his lunch pail, he led, he scored, he assisted. he had some defensive missteps, but he was also an elite pk'er. i admit i'm completely biased as i think the world of the kid. |

I think we'll call that a draw. About the only thing that could ruin meeting Hartnell and Giroux would be doing it at a Nickelback concert.
Plus, you got sweet & sour chicken. |

I don't understand this hate for Nickelback. I'm not in love with them but I really don't think they're bad at all. |

I don't hate them to the point of hunting them down or anything, but I can't stand their plastic music. It feels like it was manufactured in a factory somewhere in the US south to me. In fact, I feel this way about most contemporary country (I'm looking at you, Zac Brown Band). |

Can't speak for everyone, but for me, it was a combo of never really liking them all that much, and having their music overplayed to the extreme on every radio station in north america (or so it seemed). If I never hear them again it'll be too soon. |

I should probably want the Devils to win to guarantee no Rangers next round, but man I love watching them lose. I hate Pittsburgh, but it's not near the animosity I had for the Devils back in the 90's and early 00's |

That day they traded those two was like the 9/11 of NHL offseasons. When that happened it split the fan base and had the sports world scratching it's head. A lot of people thought the flyers would be cooked this year. How those moves paid off is drastic improvement. I think basing it off the point system is also flawed analysis and not giving the award out properly. Geez whoever is voting for these awards needs to be relieved of duty. |

I hate these Pens worse....I'm more of a fanatic now though. Those Devs teams were terribly frustrating, but at least I could tip my cap. Cant do it with these Pens. Its been sweet savoring this the last few days. |
