Flyers Kings SCF- thoughts? I think that would be the most entertaining to watch.
- sbroads24

Agreed, would be great to watch Richards and Carter smoke their old team, and then have a huge party afterwards

I'm waiting for a Panthers-Coyotes final myself, just because it will be amusing to watch the "traditionalists" squirm.

They have the talent to beat them, hockey playoffs are great, with Vancouver out it's an absolute toss up in the west, Phoenix is playing great hockey I wouldnt count them out. I think Philly takes it in the East. I would say the Bruins have a shot but thomas has looked average and IMO the Flyers would breeze past them.

Nashville is going to beat Phoenix easy IMO. The only reason they got past the hawks is because Crawford is awful. Rinne is going to shut them down.
As far as the East goes I want to see who makes it out of the first before making any calls, but Philly does look like a favorite.

Nashville isnt an offensive juggernaut and with the way Smith is playing for PHO, I can see it being a 6 or 7 game series

Smith is playing well, but I still think that Rinne is better and has a better team in front of him. Thats just my opinion, we'll find out how the series shakes out once all these eastern teams finish up their first round series.

I actually just looked up that Nash was 4th in the NHL in scoring in the regular season, that suprised me. I could see a SCF with both 5 seeds. IMO the 5 seeds are always the most dangerous team in the playoffs.

The Nucks were only the President Cup winners because they play in the WORST division in hockey. The NW div was the ONLY division to send 1 team to the playoffs. When a team plays CGY, COL, MIN and EDM 24 times a year they are all but guarantee a playoff spot every year.

Detroit was the 5 seed.

I believe the last 5 seed to win it all was in 1995 lockout shortened season (NJD). The 5 seeds have not proven all that dangerous. The Flyers could be the exception to the rule this year.

Would love to see St.Louis vs. Philly in the SCF, just think it would be a classic.
With a St.Louis win of course........Eff Philly.

I would love this, well only if STL won. They are two big physical teams that would legally pound the crap out of each other! STL's goaltending is the best tandom in the league.

I'm still rooting for Goose and Nashville to win it. That way when we sign him back in the off season everyone can say things like "this guy knows how to win" and "we finally have a cup winner on our roster to show everyone what it takes"

If the Bruins lose in game 7 the last 4 Stanley Cup Champions will all have lost in the 1st round this season.

Just a quick note: The Magic Hat Spring Seasonal is a * out of *****.

Wrong flavor for a spring ale; way too heavy.

Out of the 29n teams in the NHL, there are currently 8 head coaches with stanley cup rings, out of the 8, 7 of them were the coach of a team who made the playoffs, out of the 7 coaches remaining if Boston and NYR advance then 4 out of the 8 teams remaining in the playoffs have a coach with a stanley cup ring. I think that says alot about the importance of having a winning coach on your team

Not a big fan of Magic Hat to begin with, so this will definitely steer me in a different direction without hesitation.

stable organizations change the coach and/or gm when things grow stale...that's the nature of the beast...

the sabres, on the other hand, have been anything but stable...

--the muckler/nolan/hasek tumult
--knox financial troubles
--the sale to rigas
--rigas indicted
--under nhl control
--the return of larry quinn
--the lockout
--and the sale to pegula

their defense was weak, weaker than philly's...i think that had a bif affect upon maf, especially with the way the flyers come in waves

Fleury deserves his blame too, but I agree with you, their defense was unacceptable for playoff hockey. Many times Fleury was left out to dry. They really need to improve on their 2nd defense pairing (Martin, Michalek). They have been a let down.
