With Hodgson in our line-up, we were the top scoring team in the Western Conference 3.2+ GPG. 2 capable PP units. A 3rd line that chipped in regularly with clutch goals.
From the day he was traded 'til the Kings ended our season, we averaged barely over 2 GPG (at or near the bottom of the entire league).
People claimed that Hodgson had success in Vancouver because he played sheltered minutes. Then he went to Buffalo, and although he struggled a bit, still managed to outscore Kesler for the remainder of the season. - DrChristianTroy
Trade Raymond + luongo to someone for a center...
That'll help your cap issues.
You should be able to get a good return for that package...
Maybe to Columbus for Ryan Johanson?
Then u sign Parise to play with Kesler & Higgins
The Sedins + Burrows is already set
And you now have a 3rd line that'll be able to score with Johanson (or whatever center u get) plus Booth and Hansen
Malhotra anchors your 4th line & u can still trot him out for big faceoffs
Your all set
Maybe u still need to make some moves with your defense...
That prob starts with finding someone to take Ballard to make room for a brad Stuart type guy
With the core u have, you aren't far away from being a totally dominant team - jdfitz77
nobody is going to take on luongo's ten remaining years...
nobody is going to take on luongo's ten remaining years...
their only hope is the new cba - b0s0o1
The length is definitely an issue
But it's still a pretty good cap#
There will probably be teams tht are interested
But will they be willing to give up something significant enough to make it worthwhile for the Canucks?
And will Luongo waive his NTC to go there?
Those are the biggest issues IMO
Maybe the leafs?
