The Leafs haven't made the playoffs in seven years and I bet they reach the decade mark. Are you to embarrassed to have them on your avatar? Hodgson would not have made a difference because he wouldn't have been playing much in the playoffs. AV didnt trust him defensively and I didn't either. I don't want hodgson back. What kind of a player asks for a trade 6 games into his NHL career and a day after losing game seven in the cup finals. Obviously stats and money are more important to him. Gillis made the trade before his value went down again because av told gillis he wouldn't be using him much in the playoffs. Ya we could have used his offensive talent on the second power play unit but he would have been a liability. I still like the trade because Schroeder is a better fit for the third line center role. Kassian fills and organizational need and is cap friendly for another three years. Hodgson would have been asking for millions and we would have seen a Turris situation. I don't get how someone can have an opinion on this trade for at least another two years.

Well, Kesler failed to show up for the last 17 games, so I'd say that's 2 pretty important players not doing what they need to be doing. But scoring in general was poor for the Canucks since the TDL (as I believe Garth highlighted), so yes, that was an issue. Still, Higgins, Lapierre, Raymond, Burrows all had poor showings. Nothing to suggest Hodgson would have been the difference between losing 4 and not winning enough.

Any chance Vancouver makes a major move like dealing Kesler?
Or are they more likely to chalk this up to having Daniel hurt & look to add another piece or two?

I think they should go after Parise hard
Him and Kesler on line2...
That would be some ridiculous offense

Cool Leafs suck....

I guess thats something the Nucks can hang onto after the mother of all chokes........

I'm fine with it as i know the Leafs suck but u nucks fans should probably stop running ya (frank)in lips because winning the Presidents trophy and getting the boots in game 5 really makes the Nucks the joke off the league..

I think the chances of getting Parise are slim because he's American and there's a lot of big name teams with cap space.

lol no the leafs still have that title. Sorry bro. Worst franchise in sport history. Even when there were only 6 teams they were still the worst team in the league.

Tell you what... schneider doesn't seem to have the same problems (whatever they are) that lou does, so if the canucks can get some scoring on the second and third lines then they will be dangerous again. They seem to have the goalies more or less figured out

Schneider brutal with booting big rebounds and it will get exposed big time next season...

I think the Nucks are tight to the cap no matter what, and even if the move Lou, they will be taking a contract back, and still have very little flexability.

Parise is unlikely.

You couldn't tell if Neil got it with his foot. It was actually the right call. Well, the correct call would have been goaltender interference as Lundqvist got pushed out of the crease, but that's not reviewable.

Trade Raymond + luongo to someone for a center...
That'll help your cap issues.
You should be able to get a good return for that package...
Maybe to Columbus for Ryan Johanson?

Then u sign Parise to play with Kesler & Higgins
The Sedins + Burrows is already set
And you now have a 3rd line that'll be able to score with Johanson (or whatever center u get) plus Booth and Hansen
Malhotra anchors your 4th line & u can still trot him out for big faceoffs

Your all set
Maybe u still need to make some moves with your defense...
That prob starts with finding someone to take Ballard to make room for a brad Stuart type guy

With the core u have, you aren't far away from being a totally dominant team

Quick> Luongo. Or at least in the series, which helped the KINGS a lot, not to mention Kesler wasn't very good either.

Luongo will be wearing the Tampa Bay B(b)*lues come October.

And so will Stamkos-
