I assume missing the playoffs. Not sure what kind of silverlining you find in finishing 9th. It's the worst place to finish. At least with the Canucks, we know they're a good team who came up very short at a bad time. Sabres just weren't good enough all year.

Well, Kesler failed to show up for the last 17 games, so I'd say that's 2 pretty important players not doing what they need to be doing. But scoring in general was poor for the Canucks since the TDL (as I believe Garth highlighted), so yes, that was an issue. Still, Higgins, Lapierre, Raymond, Burrows all had poor showings. Nothing to suggest Hodgson would have been the difference between losing 4 and not winning enough.

Quick> Luongo. Or at least in the series, which helped the KINGS a lot, not to mention Kesler wasn't very good either.

I know, but im not the type of person that tries to get other fans riled up, regardless of whos thread it is. Just sayin. And I dont think the canucks suck, people are lying to themselves if they think that, I just feel they still have a lot to learn.

With Hodgson in our line-up, we were the top scoring team in the Western Conference 3.2+ GPG. 2 capable PP units. A 3rd line that chipped in regularly with clutch goals.

From the day he was traded 'til the Kings ended our season, we averaged barely over 2 GPG (at or near the bottom of the entire league).

People claimed that Hodgson had success in Vancouver because he played sheltered minutes. Then he went to Buffalo, and although he struggled a bit, still managed to outscore Kesler for the remainder of the season.

Brian Burke is a fool for trading unknown 1st round picks for Kessel but in the end he has a talented player in Kessel....

Gillis is a moron for trading a guy with Hodgson's potential for a 3-4rd line plug like Kassian...

you did win the presidents trophy not sure the canucks are a joke.... anyhow Darcy regier takes a lot of heat(some of it deserved), but this trade looks to have benefited the sabres quite a bit more than the canucks. but both COHO and Kassian have long careers ahead of them and we shouldn't judge so quickly
