Marleau only has two more years at 6.9M. He is still a 30 goal scorer, somebody would want him.

I don't see anyone picking up that tab except maybe EDM or COL.
Add in the NMC.
Now you're in a spot.

EDM wants defense, they have plenty of young high octane forwards now, especially with the #1 pick again this year.

Toronto might take on Marleau's contract if SJ takes Connolly's last year. Could benefit both teams, gets Marleau off the books, only on the hook for Timmy for one year at almost 3 mil less than Marleau, Toronto gets a good veteran center to play with Kessel

Burke is definitely desperate enough. That would make sense.

That would be smart.

Any word on what the "hold ups" will be?

It's gonna get ugly in TO if they dont make the playoffs again. They should be doing everything in their power to aquire proven players. Burke needs to stop "stocking the Cupoards" as so many TO fans like to say.

I think discipline process will be under fire as the NHL will try to significantly raise the maximum fine from $2500.

The mega long term deals to circumvent the cap will be under fire.

A major issue will no doubt be the players wanting a bigger piece of the pie as the revenues increase.

Realignment that was shot down will probably be addressed in some form or capacity.

Any minor or major thing that the players want, Fehr will go hard after.

Everything. When Donald Fehr was hired, he was quoted as saying that he felt the players conceeded way too much in the last CBA.

They had no choice last time.. the league was almost dead, owners were not losing out on too much revenue... They had more leverage.... Now it's a little different. Hope theres no lockout

Agreed, but guys like Fehr never look at it that way. That's part of being so high up in a union. The idea is to demand the most out of the other side, regardless of their situation.

I just hope there is no bs and they get it done. Usually when the players union publicly says they feel the players got the raw end of the deal, it leads to a lockout.

Haven't they learned that whenever millionaires go on strike they are the ones who look bad?

I think I'll be happy if they stay away from WR RB and secondary in the first round, although I keep hearing the whispers of CB and S.

My preference would be play making LB.

I think the Vikes pass on Kalil (sp?) and take a DB. I could see him falling down the board to just before the Bills pick (7-8) Do you make a play at him if you are the GM?

IMO, CB is not a bad pick in RD1.

I see Miami taking Tanehill.

It's a little more than semantics, I think. During his season-ending interview, Ryan Miller spent about 2 minutes talking about the labor situation, and how the players mean business, and reminded everyone that the players didn't strike. This year is going to be different, and they're the victim. If they strike, it kind of makes that whole stance a little hypocritical.

If your pass rush is excellent the need for upper echelon CB's is minimized. I would like to shore up the LB position, which I think is weaker than our current crop of CB's.

If the players take the same stance the NFL and NBA Players association did they will get ripped apart.

The last thing the NHL needs is a lockout/strike over revenues and player percentages. The league has come full circle since the last lockout, both the NHL and the NHLPA better know the league cannot afford a strike/lockout.

Proposal. Rumors are Eagles are looking to trade Samuel. Again Rumors are 3rd rd pick.

Again you being GM, would you take the best LB available at 10 and trade the 3rd and possibly a 5th/6th for Samuel?

Take the best WR or T available in RD 2?

I see the Rams taking him or Richardson if either gets that far and going WR at the top of Round 2.
