Ive been a lazy fan for years but since last year I've been dedicating a lot more time to the Jays.

I went to 4 of 6 home games in the first two home series'. Planning to catch a lot this summer since I live so close to the Dome.

my buddy lives a few blocks away and we were planning on going to see a game/two cause he gets tickets for free....figured what the hell, pick a nice day and go drink some beer

I wish I lived close.. to get to the games regularly. Its a long haul from Ottawa.
Went to 1 last year, hope I cant get to a few more this year.

I hope the jays can stay in the hunt longer this year, but I think they are at least 1 more year away from competing. Unless Boston continues to suck

a little off topic, but:

Seeing as Florida is mos tlikely going to be bringing up Markkstrom next year at some point, does anyone feel that Clemmensen might be on the move to clear a roster spot?

If so, does anyone have interest in picking him up as a mentor for Reimer, or would we all rather see what Reims/Scrivens can do here?

Yea, but better costs us too much.

I'd personally rather go cheap (ala Clemmensen) or stick with what we have.

Worst case, if we can get a proven goalie cheap (i.e. Luongo) then by all means (won't happen though), but no other prospects (i.e. Lindback), that is just pointless

I wouldnt mind Luongo if hes going to be cheap, like you said. But I would rather spend more on a goalie that can help now and for a few solid years rather than get another goalie who could be 50/50 and not (really) help out Reimer.

I say we arguably have 10$ to spend on items we need for this team, and we need two larger priced items (center/goalie)...and I think we should spend $6-7 of that $10 on a goalie.

I think we could get a good goalie for $4-5 range.. I mean Rinne is making $7 and he is arguably the best in the league, so based on what would be available I dont thinkt he cap hit would be as much.

But I dont see how we can get that $10M you are talking about. Maybe $3.5 for Lombo in the minors, but unless someone takes Komi (No chance), Connolly (Little Chance), or Army (Very Little Chance), I don't see it happening.

Clearing out these guys would b e my #1 concern this offseason. Making room for the young guys

That is everyones concern. I expect any goalie that would come here as a UFA would demand premium $$$ because it is almost certain Toronto will ruin their careers.

Sorry...perhaps I wasnt clear, those numbers werent literal in any means. I was simply meaning that, if we had a total of 10 apples to spend on improving this team over the summer, we should spend 6/7 of them for a goalie.

Just mean to say out of our assets we can afford to move and money we can take in, we should focus 60-70% of that to acquire a legit goalie.

If that helps
