I want another look at the Del Zotto hit, the angle I got I couldn't tell what part hit Neil.
- TPC

Shoulder to chest first, caught a little chin after contact had already been made. Good hit.

Oh, he definitely toes the line, almost all the time, and i totally get why other teams hate him. He's definitely thrown hits in the past that would be suspensions today (were clean at the time though). My point was that the boyle hit wasn't dirty, in fact it was very similar to del zotto's hit, which was also fine. Yet several people were calling for a massive suspension for neil, while praising del zotto.
- sensarmy_11

sure ... but there are probably also Sens fans who think the delzotto hit was dirtier than what Neil did.

every team has fans that look through the rose colored glasses.

Yep, hopefully the Rangers build off of this win and finish them off.

The difference is also Neil repeat offender or not is a headhunter and has somehow escaped discipline. MDZ hit Neil in the chest and the contact was glancing and it was a bang bang play. Neil lined him up looking to knock him out of the game end of story. This was your chance and you spit the bit.
- Blueshirts4ever

You're right, that was our only chance. I mean, we might have a chance if we'd already won 2 of 3 in new york, but you're right, we have no chance.

Game 7 dude, anything can happen.

I was one who thought the other one was dirty, but no where near Torres level, I think Torts said that.

That's why I want to see another look. At least both weren't called.

Why would you root for the top seed? Don't want to see a division rival on through? Has to be the reason

Possible, i haven't read any comments anywhere yet complaining about it. I'm quite sure nobody will be calling for a 10 game suspension though.

No Momemtum in this series, so what happened tonight, other than helping create a Game 7, has little bearing on Thursday. The only hope is that Rangers saw what succeeded tonight and have similar game plan in Game 7

Ok chief, time to read back.

Almost all of us took no issue with the hit and were not calling for any sort of suspension.

I agree ... but my point was a lot of those calls for suspension is just based on who made the hit. And rightfully so.

Neil gets flack because he makes a habit of catching guys like that.

Live by the sword, die by it. DelZotto and Neil have a little history and I'm sure it will continue on Thursday. The better team won tonight, regardless of the magic 8 ball reffing the game.

Richards pulled himself together and took it to Ottawa.

I think Neil pissed him off enough to spark him tonight.

Fair enough. If rupp had laid that hit on neil instead of DZ, i'm sure it would probably be a bigger deal. Still clean hit, just would probably hear more about it.

Ok let me clarify, that was your best chance and you spit the bit. You're right about G 7 but your team wasnt very good and I'm sorry I just can't see our team drop 3 of 4 at home but you're right it's one game

Probably bang on there, sort of like Boyle pissing of the Senators the first game. You have to becareful who you wake up.

I'd have rathered Neil poked Spezza a couple times, he was once again one of the best Rangers tonight.
