Congrats to the Preds from a Hawks fan on your series win against the Dead Wangs.
I admire your coach
The way your team plays hockey
And if my Hawks can't win I'm pulling big time for the Preds to take home Lord Stanley.
But they aren't going to win after the Hawks win this series in 7 and the Preds series in 6 - CaptainBlackhawk
The Preds have unfinished business with the Hawks!!! I'm all for the hawks but hopefully 2 more OT games. |

I don't get the football fans in this town. 104.5 was taking an informal poll about what people would watch on Thursday if the Preds had a second round playoff game that night, the game or the draft. The responses were about 50/50 which is only surprising because I would have expected more people to say The Draft, especially on that station. What bothered me, however, were the responses of several of the football fans.
There was some absolute hatred towards the Predators and hockey coming from some of those respondents. One guy even said he hoped the Preds would lose so that they would stop taking airtime away from the Titans. As if the Titans get any airtime taken from them.
As someone who was a Titans season ticket holder until last year and is still a Preds season ticket holder, I just don't understand why people in this city pit one team against the other instead of just rooting for both to succeed.
I wish that some of these people would stop being so self-punitive. Take the time to go to a hockey game instead of being so incredibly resistant to it. Enjoy what's happening for your city instead of carrying on with the jealous diatribes, and as one caller stated, develop a Sports IQ. There are a lot of other sports out there besides football.
This is our city. These are our teams. I hope to see a Predators Stanley Cup parade and a Titans Super Bowl parade someday soon. Let's root for them both to represent our city well. |

I hate listening to 104.5 talk hockey. They are clueless about hockey in general. They should stick to SEC and NFL excluding Willy dounic.
I run into the football fan who thinks the NHL is a joke quite often. Hockey fans are unique sports fans. Some people are just to ignorant to learn anything about hockey.

I have watched the hit by Torres a few times. It didn't look as bad as the hit by Alexandre Burrows on J.P. Dumont a few years ago. I realize that they have been tightening up on head shots, but I don't know how it goes from not even a review on the Burrows hit to 25 games on the Torres hit. It definitely feels like severity is determined more by who makes the hit than anything else.
I am still surprised that Weber didn't get a suspension, but maybe the NHL finally sees him as a big enough star to avoid it. I think he is the first Pred that has done something reviewable who didn't get a suspension in franchise history.
And for anybody who thinks that Refs don't single out certain players for tougher enforcement, read one of Kerry Fraser's most recent blogs about the Torres incident.

"In my first year in the NHL, Hall of Fame linesman John D'Amico told me to know which players were on the ice at all time and to be aware of their individual tendencies. From last night this would include a player such as Raffi Torres that has demonstrated a history of finishing checks hard, high and late! When players such as Torres or Jordin Tootoo of the Nashville Predators are on the ice all officials' radars have to be dialed up."
/SarcasmOn/ It's nice to know that the officials keep a closer eye on Tootoo. /SarcasmOff/ |

The hits are the same. It might have robbed J.P a couple more years in the NHL. Let's hope Hossa is the same player when he comes back. |

The past few years I have gone to the tailgates then come home to watch the game on tv and redzone. The atmosphere at a preds game is 100 times better than the titans but if you never go you will never know. I will never spend my money on the titans tickets again. I sold my PSL's 5 years ago and have to been to maybe 2 games since. We had to give up our 8 seats to the preds this past year due to youth hockey commitments. I had everybody from the pred brass call, email, mail comp tickets to games and invited to the owner's suite. They worked hard to get me to come back. Everytime we told the ticket reps our situation but still continue to call throughout the season. I just hate how hard the pred management works to fill the building every night but titans haven't had to break a sweat since the super bowl run. Hopefully the times are changing!!! |

What a great game. A Hamhuis turnover to end the season and Burrows got knocked on his butt by a monster hit earlier in the game.

How many times did we warn nucks fans about the hammer...just to have them say that we're crazy to think he's capable for such things!!!
Okay...enough joking...who's got the matches?

While I would agree with that, sadly this town sometimes doesn't seem like it is big enough for two teams. I cheer against the titans any time I can because they take away from the preds and they are a poorly run organization.
Speaking of which, how bout those choke artists in vancouver. Picked LA in 6. Just saying LA is scary good this year. |

With a Chicago win - the preds get home ice again, all games in the central time zone, a chance for payback for '10. I would perfer for the preds to play central division teams this playoff run!!! What is the preds record in Glendale the last few years? |
