Yeah it really was boring watching all those spectacular saves by Elliott and seeing the Blues put up the most goals and highest PP% in the playoffs outside of the Pitt/Philly series. Granted, not the same kind of thrill that goaltending controversies suspensions and riots bring, but exciting nonetheless.

Your team isn't built for the playoffs. Get over it.

- fattyboubatty

Regardless of what "Fans" of other teams may want to say - particularly in the wake of yet another playoff disappearing act by the Sharks. The Blues aren't boring. They don't play in east so they don't get the artificial hype associated with being in NY, Philly or Boston. Tim Thomas gets way more hype than he deserves.

St Louis is not a boring team - if you like to watch effective hockey.

Now if you are used to watching a bunch of prima-donnas over-protected by the officials, the league, etc... then tune into your choice of Vancouver, CHicago or Pittburgh to get your fill.

sure, just be prepared to watch him disappear for 10-15 games at a time! he's veeeerrrrry streaky. oh, and he's much more effective at center than he is at winger.

Not really.

He was a better two way player at center, yes, but his offense has always been about his speed, something that has been taken out of his game due to being forced to play with linemates that simply can't match it.

Have you SEEN the guy that plays LW for Eric Staal? Jiri Tlusty is NOT a top 6 player. Let alone a first line guy.

really?

As a matter of fact, yes. I would like to keep Burnsie. Maybe just because we gave up so much for him (I was really looking forward to seeing Coyle in teal), but whatever the reason may be, I was actually quite impressed with his offensive side...more so than Boyle. He had his lapses on the defensive end, but overall I thought he got progressively more and more defensively sound as the year went on and he found his role in the system.

Tough break, Sharks fans. You lost to a much more boring team. I'll be looking forward to seeing what your management does in the offseason. Good luck!

The game of hockey has evolved, the Sharks have not. Today's game is all about speed, and the Sharks clearly lack speed. A rebuild is a little premature, but a retool with some key players moving is a must if we want to make any noise next year.

I give a lot of credit to Wilson for not staying put, making changes and trying to win the Cup over the last couple of years. Like I said before, I have zero problem with him sacrificing our future for a chance to win the Cup. Very much like any NHL GM Doug Wilson made his fair share of good moves and blunders. However, sooner or later when what you do doesn't yield a desirable result for so many years and when the team you manage fails to even come close to winning (with all those expectations) you have to step aside. I think this summer would be the right time for him to do so. Will this happen? Who knows.

So strong that we all barely just squeek in the playoffs? I think the pacific is a whole lot weaker with exception to Phoenix. Maybe we got a whole lot less of those 3 point games.

For me....I look at the team and see a whole lot of talent on paper. Patty didn't do well but patty is having to play a style he isn't bult for, he needs to be a center with a pair of fast wingers. We don't have that with exception to havlat. In fact if you loot at the sharks Roster we have very few natural wingers and a whole ton of natural centers.

Jumbo needs guys like Cheechoo used to be and Seto was, kinda scrappy and taking some hits to get in front of the net. He had Patty who isn't going to do that, Havlat who will be injured for doing that, and couture would go there some times. Having the talents he has paired with guys who are not going to get in front of the net doesn't work so well.

The defence. I can't say I really liked anyone other than Burns, Boyle, Pickels and Murrary. ALL of them made some bone headed plays but overall in the end I don't feel the need to toss them outta here, UNLESS we get one hell of a return for them.

Coaching....what happened to the special teams over the past 4 seasons....the assistant coaching changed and I think it got worse and worse and worse. T-mac didn't impress me as much this season, I feel he was unable to adapt to teams he was playing. Maybe too much of we will play our game and that is it. If the other team found a style to stifle the way you play ya HAVE TO change a bit.

Goalies....Niemi has a lot that I feel needs to improve. He can make the inital save a ton of the time but the rebounds are horrible, when he and Nitty first came to the sharks I felt both were as good as the other with one exception, Nittys rebounds went out to the cornors and Niemis ended up more often than not in front of the net. I think the Sharks spent much more energy worrying about the defense and goalie over scoring these past 2 seasons, the offensive players seem to be hanging back just a bit more instead of pushing harder on the offensive side. So I'd be happy to have Niemi traded out and find someone cheaper for the same caliber goalie or the same cash for a better one. Niemi is not worth the ammount he is being paid.

Any way about it there are a good deal of things that need to change. I really hope there is more than just a minor trade or two that happens.

If Marleau and Pavelski had played half as hard as Thornton we could have still been in this series.

Sucks that the season is over for the Sharks, I really feel that if they could have gotten past St Louis they would have won the West.

Curious to see how the off season goes...

Wow if that was lying it all on the ice, then I have never seen a playoff hockey game before. 3 Shots in the first 30 minutes is not exactly lying it on the line. The team look uninspired and not even into it even after taking a 1-0 lead.

As for pretenders I will Kick a man when he is down.

Doug Wilson, Todd McLellan and Patrick Marleau are all pretenders.

That was a disgusting effort. The Sharks are now regretting putting the salaries of Thornton, Marleau and Boyle over the potential of Ehrhoff, Carle and Michalek. McLellan should be fired, Marleau should be dealt after another atrocius series, and Shark fans should finally realize that the window has slammed shut. The Sharks are left without a legitimate prospect system or realistic Cup aspirations; enjoy the offseason everybody.
- Ryan Garner

THANK YOU! Finally someone points out that what the Sharks are missing is Ehrhoff, Michalek and Carle. We get it you hate the Sharks, we have heard this song and dance time and again. Never have a comment when they win, so quick to jump in when they lose. You have not been gone long enough for us to forget that you speak from bias and a general hatred of the Sharks instead of, oh I don't know... an ounce of logic. Take a few more years off and try again.

Also you forgot to mention "teal colored glasses."

Sign us up for Anders Lindback. Big, athletic, and decent puck handler. Hes been marinating behind Rinne. He will be a champ.

Its pretty much a garuntee that we are signing Brad Stuart this summer too, which means we will be dealing either Vlasic, Murray, or Demers.

I know Edmonton would never go for it but Sharks first rounder, Marleau (NTC), and Vlasic/Murray for Nail Yakupov?

If the Sharks go full firesale, it would be interesting to see if we can seal the deal for Nash. Then again, we may not want another long term big contract.

As much as i love Murray, he's the one id let go far before vlasic or demers. and marleau is just a joke now! he's only worth $6,900,000 for a week out of the year. the rest of the time hes like a $4 mil dollar player

I think the sharks should make some big changes! dump the top 2 lines except Thornton, Couture, and havlat, shuffle around with our bottom two lines keeping winnik, mitchell and mabey handzus. Defense, keep vlasic, burns, demers and braun, and then most of all, GET RID OF NIEMI!!!!

just to rant further... two player the sharks could have easily acquired during the trade deadline that would have significantly improved our team were, Tuomo Ruutu, and Antoine Vermette, but doug was more interested in getting rid of Mcginn who showed he was a great player after he was given some ice time, so we can play with our bottom two lines.. i think im done
