There are plans to bring "two stars in random" to the Leafs this summer.
What the hell does that even mean?
Are they going to close their eyes and pursue "Stars" that they pull out of a hat? |

I personally think they should keep him. But they handled the trade deadline so terribly with him, it might be best to part ways. I don't see him in Toronto though.
I like the idea here that Toronto could have Nash, Parise, and Kessel (if EKs dream comes true) but they still have no first line centre to get them the puck. - Gord_Wilson_2.0
Concept is over rated. Lupul-Kessel had such good chemistry, you could stick Zigomanis between them.
People seem to think Jordan Staal is a bad idea, and I disagree whole-heartedly. Hockey isn't played like NHL 12. Not every center has to be a pass-first player and not every winger has to be a scorer.
Put Jordan Staal on a line with Kessel and Lupul and that line is magical.
EDIT: Dont believe me? Look at the Preds, the ones that just defeated the Detroit Red Wings in 5 games. |

The thing is, what is it that Toronto has that other teams want? The 5th overall, Gardiner, Kadri, Colbourne? It might take all of that just to get Nash out of Columbus. Then what's left over to use for further transactions?
I guess Burke could trade the vets, I'm sure there are teams that would like to acquire phaneuf, kessel, liles, or lupul but I thought he wants to be in the playoffs sooner than later (not that its working).
How about that UFA target? Could it be Suter? Would he trade for an RFA like Weber? |

Anyone who think's Jordan Staal isn't talented is a (frank)ing retard.
Guy might be the best defensive center in the NHL, but his offense "isn't first line material" because last year in about 20 games with an AHL line-up +Alex Kovalev, he still produced at a better then .5 PPG clip.
This year, he continues to produce despite injuries and does what, score like 30 points in his last 31 regular season games?
Does anyone even know some of the Pens wingers? Heres a hint, outside of Neal and Kunitz, their nobodies.
I dare some of you to go look at how young he still is too.
Pens could trade Staal for a kings ransom if they wanted, and every GM know's it because all 29 of them would kill to have him on their team. |

Ek aren't they both left wingers. It would be interesting to see which one would accept the second line roll. - whipper334

Didn't Burke say already that pick goes nowhere? - mochoson
Burke wouldn't say that. The only trade piece we have over other teams on Nash's list is that pick. Well and gardiner but hes not going anywhere. |

I don't necessarily disagree. You don't always have to have a playmaker as a top line centre, but if you have pure snipers, like a Kessel, Nash, what have you, it helps. Nashville doesn't have those types of wingers on that level, so they can get by with hardworking centres.
Columbo tried pairing Carter and Nash, two shoot first type guys, didn't really work. |

Serious question so don't laugh to hard. Do you think Burke would offer up anything good for Kipper if Calgary made him available. |

I'm not sure to be honest. I don't know where he'd stand on the age part. I'm not sure what his contract is like now or what is left. I can't see it being out of the question. They are in (frank)ing dire need for a goalie. |

I'd be very surprised if Kadri isn't traded this summer,
Whether it's a deal for Luongo or a guy like Nash, Kadri will be a part of it.
He'll be a good NHLer someday, but not in Toronto |
