Supposed to be a good draft year in 2013, not a bad year to get a lottery pick, better than this year

I don't know about you but i specifically remember hordes of bloggers positing that the leafs would land between 7th - 11th. Just before their eventual collapse they were sitting 5th closing on philly or pitts. We know what came next. So yes, I think those changed our expectations pretty dramatically - from potentially making the playoffs to "a contender". Don't fool yourself, everyone was jumping the bandwagon save for the usual fatalists.

The season was not that spectacular, it was a spectacular disappointment. There is not enough raw talent in this team for them to be competitive in a playoff setting.

Morons. Too many people are squawking about the leafs having a terrible season. That could't be more wrong. The leafs had a terrible collapse - that's certain. However, they showed some moments of true brilliance - and then faltered soon to implode completely. It was curious considering the tear they were on. Anyhow, the leafs have something in quite a few of our current players, and then some competing for the Calder Cup this year.

no top notch UFA is going Toronto. AKA Parise. He wants to sign on with a winner. every year it's the same song and dance. nobody but old used up vets or guys that they over pay will go there.

When will people learn it takes a combination of good trades, good drafting, and good signings in order for a team to win a cup. Other then the kessel deal which hasn't turned out so bad, burke has done a good job. He just needs to learn to keep his mouth shut. The fact burke isn't willing to take those kinda risks anymore is the only reason why this team will take longer to shape.

Weber and Suter are staying in Nashville IMO, Preds will finally spend to the cap, they are an up coming team with great G and D, they just need a bit more offense. With Radulov coming back and if they add someone like maybe Parise if he doesn't resign with NJ, they would be very dangerous.

To even mention interest in a player in the playoffs is too close to tampering that this rumor is complete bullpoop.....the Leafs will try hard to sign some FA's, but to tell a player that they intend to bring a specific player still in the playoffs is tampering....case closed.....

Plus, there's still a couple months away from the draft and free agency, things will changed.
