I want to know what Mario said to the team after Gm 3
- nhindian

I read somewhere he was leaning against the wall outside the dressing room as they came off the ice after game 3 giving them the death stare.

I'll never take shanny or the league seriously until they put a big number on a "star" player, and not the easy targets like Cooke or Torres.

Please, please, please work on faceoffs today in practice!! They were atrocious yesterday.

Not sure if anybody else caught it but on one of the Flyers PP's towards the end of it they had Crosby out for the draw.

The Malkin hat is going full steam in Flyer land. I hope he drops a hat trick on them tomorrow.

This. The Flyers have been ridiculously good winning faceoffs on the PP.

yeah. staal had an incredible game but at the end he could not win a faceoff for his life. even when he prevented the opposing center from winning it cleanly, it still stayed in the zone somehow for a flyer opportunity

ugh what havent they been good at on the powerplay? but yeah definitely. winning a faceoff or two and just dumping it down takes like 15 seconds off the clock each time, not to mention prevents rhythm from being established

I really don't know if superstars will ever get long term suspensions. I always thought that should happen but probably won't. This league acts like it's only the 3rd and 4th line bruisers. Honestly, I believe star players show more frustration if they are being shut down or things arn't going their way.

The Neal hit on Coots was basically the same thing Torres did.

I think he didn't get a long suspension because that was his first time suspended. However, Torres was suspended and/or fined five previous times. Also, Neal is a star in this league and Torres isn't. Just my perspective.

Except that he never hit him in the head, wasnt intentionally tagerting him to hurt him. Coots didnt get pulled off the ice on a stretcher and sent to a hospital. Lastly, Neal hasn't been running around the league for 5 years hitting ppl like this over and over again and again...so stop whining please!!

Found this on a Burnside article on ESPN:
"After the game, Pittsburgh owner Mario Lemieux, often visible but hardly an everyday presence in the locker room, walked through a nearly empty locker room and bent down to chat briefly with his netminder, who was still sitting at his stall in his pads. Lemieux shook Fleury's hand in what might have been a gesture of thanks, which, on this night, was the overriding sentiment of Penguins fans everywhere."
Think that helps Fleury's confidence?
