Just read Grossmann practiced today, what is the chance he plays tomorrow? If he does there is no way that he nada concussion. - LJF
Really? You know that Couturier saw stars (had a concussion) and didn't miss a shift. The whole taking concussions seriously thing goes right out the window in the playoffs. They will NEVER learn. |

How does this idiot still have a job? - nhindian
Your guess is as good as mine.
On a related note (or, in this case...maybe not related....) I think Jonesy does a great job both for the Flyers and for NBC. I could be partial since he was a Flyer, but I think he's solid on national TV. |

I personally don't know how in good conscience the Flyers could put a guy out there who suffered a concussion earlier this week, especially considering the franchise's past history with this issue. I'm sure he wants to play, but someone has to be thinking about the long view here and the guys long term health, right? - Emperor Filonius

Did the Flyers ever come out and say he had a concussion? Or was it all speculation??
I, for one, never heard an official word. Or at least- didn't hear or remember one coming from the FLYERS. Not Eskin or anyone else, but the Flyers.
In my eyes, we've been speculating for the last 48 hours....so he could be a go for all we know. |

I don't believe "seeing stars" (whatever that means medically) is the same as having a concussion. I've had a concussion (at least 1 documented), and don't remember seeing stars. I just got caught in the right spot in the head and an hour or two later, I was "off". |

I believe you. Mine was 'mild', and it still sucked. I feel for people who get rocked and aren't right for weeks. |

Took a very Malkin-esque forearm/elbow to the head on a cross ice hit after I literally passed the puck, turned around to change, and boom.
I remember seeing the ceiling, and then everything was honest to god bright (frank)ing orange for a split second, and then I woke up in the ambulance.
Threw up more than I would have if I caught the worst stomach virus ever concocted.
Any kind of light hurt me....couldn't even walk straight for 2 days....(frank)ing brutal.
Back in time for the playoffs though....those playoffs were the best stats I ever put up |

(frank) dude, that sounds scary and horrible. The vomiting is no fun at all. The playoff stats are proof of resilience and reward for dealing with that poop.
Now share some with the Flyers and we're gold tomorrow! |

Sorry, but there's nothing subjective about viewing the way Rinaldo plays. For the amount of time on the ice he gets, the number of cheap, dumb things he does is staggering. - Emperor Filonius
oh so that's malkin's excuse? so much ice time?
show me one rinaldo play where he targets an opponent's noggin. |

Yeah, Nick skated with the Black Aces and then with the Flyers. In a regular jersey. I assume if he "has no symptoms" tomorrow morning he will play. It has classic come back far too soon for a big playoff game written all over it and you know the Pens will be targeting him upstairs. |

I"m not going to go back and argue with you about a simple point I made yesterday. The statute of limitations on that argument has come and gone. Besides, I'm sure there will be something new to argue in about 10 hours. |

I'm not sure what you're basing your opinion on, but this authoritative thing you try to use is a bit comical, especially since you're debating the current worth of 2 of 6 d-men who combined played 14 minutes and 1 second in Game 5.
Gus played 2 minutes and 10 seconds less than Kubina and Lilja combined; Carle and Coburn individually had double their combined toi. - wolfhounds
I'm basing my opinion on simple reasoning. Well aware of the ice time of all the players. Lilja is a 7th defensman on the team that has played well all year. Kubina is a proven NHL defenseman that is obviously not 100%. Neither player deserves to be called a waste of a uniform under any circumstances. |

Seeing stars is one of the symptoms mentioned as indicative of a concussion and allowing a medical professional to diagnose one. Also having the field of vision go yellow (this happened to Eric Lindros in the Hal Gill concussion that was the worst one in 2000). There are many others, some more obvious than others. If you have a child playing a sport and he/she reports seeing stars, you should be sure the team and the medical people know that and respond according to concussion protocols. |
