Why put Gus with Carle? Put Gus with Lilja or Kubina and break up that painfully slow D pairing!

Tonight is the same situation for the Pens. However the pressure beigns to mount for Philly based on injuries, goaltender play, and assumptions of already winning the series.
- flyguy12

I think the assumption was ripped away from them wednesday night. they need to regroup and play a great game.

Now that all the idiots have put their brooms away, and the damned paper isn't running high school level photoshops as "clever" and "funny" headlines, maybe we can see our team go out and just play a game and forget the nonsense.

boy i hated all that crap leading up to game 4, it was a guaranteed loss, and made the a$$ wooping more painfull...i always like the humble attitude going forward, because if you lose, you dont feel like a schmuck.

I would have no issues with that move. I think the coach will mix it up if needed. Im expecting Carle, Timonen, and Coburn to log heavy mintues tonight.

So Grossmann sits out with a concussion because of questionable hits to the head, and there's no review? The league should consider automatically reviewing hits when a player gets a concussion. Maybe that will reduce head shots, because what the NHL is doing today isn't working. I still can't believe the league bought Neal's excuse that he was leaving his feet to brace for a collision. I'll have to try that sometime.

Oh well, on to Game 5. Take em down, Flyers!

He didn't skate yesterday and is not believed to be making the trip with the team.

I am so ticked off that we get another Dman out and to make matters worse it's a conky. It's time for the flyers to start taking guys out. Not illegally or dirty or sneaky elbows or shoulders but clean hard hits.
There are always discussions in here about when and when not to crush a guy. I don't subscribe to the have to make a play for the puck mantra. It's a physical game and if your going to be admiring a pass and a split second later after the pass you get crushed then so be it.
I don't want to see a game 6 these guys need to get rested and healed up because it's not going to get any easier.

Regardless of how the series went prior, the Penguins have a ton of talent. Heading into game 4, they had still outscored every team in the playoffs, except 1. It wasn't as if the Flyers were kicking their asses.

The funniest thing is, the ones talking the most smack were the ones that bailed the fastest after the Pens won. It was one game, and ugly game to be sure, but it was one game. Use it as a wake-up call and move forward.

Nothing the Flyers can do at this point. They have to play with what they have. It is very frustrating that those hits continue to go on with no punishment.

Neal's excuse is ridiculous but Shanny took the bait. The Flyers cant control that but what they can do is come into Pittsburgh and end this series. Go Flyers!!

10-3, 25-3 makes no difference because at the end of the day its still a 3-1 series lead for the guys in orange and black. I agree its time to move forward from that game and make the most of tonights game.

The Flyers should be well rested because they didn't do much skating on Wednesday night. I believe in this team's resiliency and expect some tenacious forechecking and back checking by the forwards. Let's not forget, the Flyers forwards dominate the Pens D along the boards behind the goal line. I expect a tremendous overall effort by the team tonight.

No bullpoop tonight. Don't worry about the injuries. Don't worry about the last game. Don't worry about the Philly media. Just go out, play your game, and send the Pens home. Take the goalies out of the equation, and give us a boring 3-1 win.

The concern meter is at a steady 2. Going back to Pittsburgh next Tuesday is about the only thing that I'm worried about.

I still don't understand why the Malkin hit wasn't look at?

I think we may see an OT win tonight. Hopefully the flyers take it. Bryz is the key. Have to admit the injury thing with him makes me nervous.
He made some great saves game 1 so hopefully he doesn't have other issues stemming from the foot injury.

Bill. I hope your line combinations are wrong. I think it would be a huge mistake to put Couturier and JVR together. Couturier is our Top Checking guy, and JVR is coming off an injury and is likely to be slow and winded out there. Not something we need facing down Neal, Malkin, and Crosby...

I also really think the Flyers need to break up the Briere, Schenn, Simmonds line. They have been on the ice for 7 of the 15 even strength goals. Thats almost have the goals scored. Even though they have potted their share (most on the PP though) you have to put Briere with someone that can play big-time D.

Read-Giroux-Jagr (adds read to give defensive speed to compensate for Jagrs lack of)
Hartnell-Briere-Voracek (adds Voracek defensively, and Hartnell and Briere are $ in POs)
JVR-Schenn-Simmonds (use primarely in offensive zone draws, and against 4th line to limit defensive liabilities)
Wellwood-Couturier-Talbot (Continue to use as our checking line.)

Superstars are always treated differently in every sport. I guess the NHL didnt feel the hit was that bad. Grossmann suffered a concussion from it. You just wonder if a hit like that would be reviewed if it was by Rinaldo, Torres, Vitale, Burrows, etc.
