Flyers pretty much played 3 defenseman that period. Timonen, Carle, and Coburn are going to be tired after this game.
- MJL

If they close this out they can get some needed rest. I figured those three would log heavy minutes tonight.

I don't think that was a lateral move issue. He went down expecting the point shot and guessed wrong. He was toast on the pass.
- MJL

Usually you see a goalie lunge in such a situation. He did not move just reached across.

thanks, was just curious how much they were limiting his ice, even though special teams probably did that for them

He was down in a butterfly, all he could do was reach with his stick. He over commited to the point shot.

i'd rather have 7 dmen and use them if he's going to have 3:00 the whole night.

He has to play his way back in shape. But that isn't going to do it. I've never been a fan of 7 D men.

I dont expect JvR to rack up a ton of minutes tonight. He hasnt played in awhile this is a great time to get him some minutes and he wont hurt you either.

But we could use his scoring. Goals are always at a premium right.

Strong period. Much better team game defensively.

Also, how is Matt Read no in the finals for Rookie of the Year?
Without him there's no chance at game 5.

That was a weak shot by Jagr on that pass by Roo. The save by Fleury was not as good as it looked initially.
