I was just wondering if this is one of the smallest lineups on the Flyers for a while since Grossmann cannot play and assuming Gus is in. I assume the average NHL player is more than 6 feet and more than 200 lbs (a quick search on the interwebs seems to confirm this).

Giroux, Briere, Wellwood, Kimmo, Gus, Read, Talbot fall below both height and weight.

Schenn, Couturier, Simmonds are below in weight.

Otoh, Matt Read is apparently 205 and Rinaldo is apparently 169 lbs, so its not the dog in the fight I guess.

EDIT: I meant Matt Carle

All that has to be done is to sign a sumo wrestler, that would balance out the averages.

I loved the show. I have old VHS tapes of the show in my parents garage. Letang vs. Kimmo kinda reminded me of Butch vs. Alfalfa.

Possibly depending if our players arent making a line change and then standing still.

that looks good in theory but after like the second scrum for a rebound he'd probably be out of gas

I'm doing what young Braden Holtby does Bo, I'm visualizing good things prior to the game and playing scenarios out in my head. It's working for him, so I figured I would give it a shot.

I'm feeling remarkably perky today. It could be finally being up to date at work after a dreadful first quarter. Or it could be that I'm just feeling really good about tonight, for no good reason but the Lava always says desperate teams win hockey games. And the desperation here is from the many adversities they are suddenly facing. They didn't feel pressed Wednesday...they felt on top of the world. Well the world has reminded them there are no guarantees and they'll have to be a team tonight and get it done!

i'm growing a playoff beard but have given up my other superstitions (did so at the beginning of the season). This morning I realized that in doing so, I had actually created a new superstition, i.e. no superstitions. So I told all of them to (frank) off and put on a Flyers shirt for work.

One of my coworkers in our P'burgh office isn't really a hockey fan but his wife is. She is livid with him that he (accidentally) dressed in Flyer colors today. Hee.

The thing I love most about my job, (when I'm not crippled) is each day is not a continuation of the day before if that makes sense... Every day is fresh with new experiences, people, etc... Oh and chicks dig cops too!

think it's tough to accidentally dress in black and orange. that's a deliberate decision.

@TSNBobMcKenzie Yeah, Read said he wasn't surprised to be left out of Calder because of his age (25). "That's the way it should be," he said.

Matt Read is awesome.

What I have liked about my job is that I have a finished product (and resultant sense of accomplishment) almost every day. But with the size of the groups that write doubling in one case and tripling in another I just wasn't prepared to handle the volume. Now I have a very good freelancer as a partner and with her trained and up to speed things are settling into a better flow.
