Maybe we don't see 'flying elbow' in the same way.

If you watch the reply...Malkin extends his right arm to try and poke check the puck...then as he gets closer to Grossman, pulls his left arm in.

I might agree if there was no puck...or if he was looking at Grossman...but it's tough to argue that Malkin isn't looking at the puck and trying to poke it past Grossman.
- icedog97

I don't believe that for one moment.

- nastyflyergirl

I'm not asking you to believe anything.

Watch the replay. Crosby goes for the puck and misses...Malkin pokes it around the other way.

I didn't magically change the video of last night's game.

Malkin is a vicious vindictive assassin and he was trying to rip grossmans head off, becuase grossman was the only thing preventing the Pens from scoring goals last night.

How much of that do you believe?

That 2 day break was poorly timed, IMO. If the flyers could have kept rolling maybe it would be a different story. Would have made more sense for the 2 day break to be in between game 4 and 5, but I'm guessing it was a scheduling issue that caused that 2 day break.

Sixers game? I dunno. But come on guys.. Its just like game 3 in Montreal in 2010. We had a bad game, but we are going to come back and put this away on Friday. It was a wake up call not to take this team lightly. The Penguins had everything to play for... Thier season, the media coverage, the taunting fans, the embarrassment of game 3, the suspensions, everything. It was a team that was fragmented pulling together against adversity. Game 5 is going to be different. It's in Pitt and with the Philly media, Fans, and Neal and Adams back its just going to be Pitt vs Philly, and a winnable game. Briere just needs to talk to Bryz again. Apologize the D left his out to dry and say "we will try harder. We need you to make the stops in this next game so we can move on."

Cross check to the back of the head a couple times, then punched the guy in the head while he was on his knees.

The penalties assested should be fine

- Oilhab

Sounds like the Asham hit... if so, it should be 4 games.

Holy crap man!!! That's intense, I wish her the cleanest and fastest recovery possible. Man that's horrible.

I hope you understand how/why some of us took your original comments in a funny way...it's the internet and 9 times out of 10 that comment would have been meant in a joking way.

My eyeball hurts just imagining her pain.

No, I understand. No biggie.

That's why you go out and just win the game. They've won 3 out of 4 so far. One more and the series is over. If they worry about cheap shots, they will be facing a game 6 or game 7. Go out and win, ignore the bullpoop and send them home. The Penguins are going to try to win the game, them gooning it up benefits the Flyers

As soon as the handshake line happens, I don't care about the Penguins anymore.

- Jsaquella

Exactly -- but I think we need to stop talking about the handshake line until it's over. just win one game, tomorrow night!

also, I've been on the pens board, so I'm not sure what everyone here is thinking, but thoughts on Malkin hit on Grossmann?

None of it.

But Malkin has been guilty now of three head shots and a couple nasty stick infractions on Flyers players this season alone. At some point, the league needs to call him on it.

No doubt in my mind Flyers come out fast and hard on Friday. Last night should have woken them up appropriately.

No doubt about it, last night should serve as a big wakeup call, but the defense core is in tatters, as well as the goaltender being injured/zero confidence.

Agreed. I've felt this way about him (Rinaldo) all season. I can't believe there's not a player just as good and less hockey dumb than him for that roster spot.

Can't blame the defense, because Bob came in and posted a shut out in relief right?
- JoeRussomanno

Bobrovsky was just as bad actually going down before the shot is even taken on three occassions gives up the top half of the net and was seriously exposed so no not the defense.

I hate seeing hits like that at all. they are not necessary. what Sedin did to Brown is not necessary. it amazes me that guys still do it with all the attention being made about concussions. Until the NHL delivers equal penalties to all players alike and stern penalties, things won't change. what Malkin did and what Sedin did is no different to me than what Neal did to Giroux
- nastyflyergirl

I completely agree. I cant believe more isnt being made out of this.

Both guys led with the elbow and made primary contact with the head of a vulnerable opponent. Stay classy NHL.
