I tweeted that video to Bill this morning and he said he thought that it wasnt the hit that cause the conky.

I would disagree. I have seen that hit so many times.. and again and again its a concussion causer. Maybe that hit was the one that caused it.. and Batboys hit just exacerbated it.. and put him out (although he tried to play after that as well).

There is nothing about that hit against Grossmann that I find reasonable or acceptable. Dangerous.. dangerous hit.

I agree. I don't like seeing that crap. shots to the head are just not ok to me

If you want to to talk about honest assessments.. start by taking out "questionable". If that was Crosby taking a shot like that the whole world would be up in arms.. and deservedly so.
- jak521

Of course...I must change my wording for you to accept it.

My point is...where is the evidence, after that, of this targeting?

Your right. Im just worried that they will go after giroux hard. Thats all im saying. If he goes down it will be a big blow to us.
- Philly1980

They're gonna go after him anyhow. Going after Crosby dirty would make the likelihood of Giroux getting run at go up.

Actually, he hasn't been dreadful. In games one and two he was key to the victories. He struggled in games 3 and 4, but he didn't get much, if any help last night. He needs to be better, but guys not playing in front of him, with the firepower Pittsburgh has, will lead to ugly stats.
- Jsaquella

The play in front of him has been dreadful by in large, no argument there, but he's allowing goals that have to be stopped. That's my issue. Flyers have the lead in the series by in large because MAF has been worse than Bryzgalov.

It all depends on what your name is. If it's Rinaldo, Torres, Asham etc.. Shanahan comes down with the hammer, if it's Malkin, Neal, Sedin, Weber it's a slap on the wrist.
- PLindbergh31

I don't expect Malkin's hit will even be reviewed will it?

How about an honest assessment...

Malkin's questionable contact...(yes...I agree)...happened with the game 1-1 in the first period.

The rest of the game was played and I don't recall seeing this targeting you are speaking of.

If it was truly a plan...wouldn't we have seen it happen again after that?

- icedog97

let me aske you, say Giroux skated past Crosby and did the same thing or what Kennedy did to Grossman and Crosby was now questionable due to a possible concussion, what would you be thinking?

Injured or not, he's not getting a pass. Was he injured when he made the glove save on Letang?

Other than a few moments, he's been dreadful in this series, no one wants to hear injuries as an excuse. This time of year everyone has injuries. Flyers have a 3-1 lead in this series in spite of their goaltending, not because of it.

- PLindbergh31

Maybe he tweaked something after game 1, or 2, or whatever. As a fan I'm kind of hard on the goalies, but I just can't believe he just all of a sudden became slow in net.

I honestly have no clue, and if it is it will lead to a fine. So it really doesn't matter.

what about game 3? There was no targeting going on? Penguins have been out to injure key flyers players with cheap head shots. If you dont agree with that assessment than you my friend are biased, thats ok but so am i. I however dont come into your thread to defend our dastardly deeds . Thanks.

I haven't been one to sit here and whine about the rough stuff but if you're telling me the Penguins aren't targeting players after all that has happened, you are sadly mistaken. I'm pretty sure the tally on headshots is heavily in the penguins favor so far in this series. Also nice blog the other day, I left a comment but it came up blank not sure why.

It's possible. I have no clue. Last night his lateral movement was that of an 80 year old man in a pair of loaded Depends. He was reacting to shots after they already were by him.

Hey Guys,

I missed last nights game, and when I saw the score I refused to watch the "high"lights. Is anyone under review for Hitting Grossmann high? And what did Rinaldo do last night?

IMO the Flyers are very capable of blowing this series, but they also have a good chance to win tomorrow. We'll see what happens

He is allowing goals he should stop. But he's also made some huge stops that could have been killer goals.

The other issue is, there's nobody else. Any faith that Bob would do better?

I'd be thinking the hit was one that the rules allow to happen...the same way Letang got hit by Nystrom at the end of February. No penalty...no suspension.

But that's not what I asked...

I think first, you need to explain yourself.

I did not defend what Malkin did.

I asked about the evidence after that.

No faith in Bobrovsky at all. He covered as much net last night as a termite. It's unfortunate Bryzgalov got a broken bone in his foot, before that he was playing his best hockey of the season. The injury is clearly hampering him, he's got a find a way to fight through it, and his teammates have to do a better job in front of him.

Not fighting or starting trouble, just a question: How many times has a flyers player targeted a head of a Penguin? And how many times a Penguin a Flyer?
