weren't those 8 zip losses elimination games?

last night was beyond bad ... but we're still up 3 - 1.

big difference.

- FlyerGuy

Yes they were. I am just wondering about the Flyers' propensity to have these TERRIBLE games in the playoffs.

I don't suppose you have an answer, do you?
- GoFlyersGoSlovakia

wasn't it one 8 zip game and one 7 - 1 game? and they were both elimination games.

this loss isn't as bad as those two.

edit: just noticed your reply above. ignore this.

For the blowouts record? No, I'll leave that research to you, sir. Personally, I don't care. A loss is a loss, time to move forward.

I hear what you are saying with all this but at this point, if you let them get you off your game it's only going to play into their hands. I think the best thing the Flyers can do is play as physically tough within the rules as possible and be more aware of their circumstances.
- JoeRussomanno

They should play tough. Im not saying to go look for it, but if crosby has his head down and is cutting across, I say Raffe torres his ass!

Gotta love it when they are apologizing to the fifth string goalie on a team not in the playoffs

My thoughts:

It was one game. If they lose tomorrow night, then the series will get interesting. They have shown they can win in Pitt, so make it happen.

Good or bad, the officiating has been horrible acrosss the board. I normally don't rant about the refs but the whole NHL should be embarrased with the way the playoffs have been reffed. It's sad and this is coming from a die hard hockey fan. The refs as much as I would argue "had" to make the calls, they are also in the process of turning the game into a joke. I feel bad for every NHL fan to have to watch a game with endless calls to the box. When you have a ref that's been in the league as long as Chris Lee has but last night was his only 5 playoff game, this shows how bad the NHL officiating corps has gotten.

I fear it's only going to get worse.

As for the sneaky hits by any player, if you are able to get away with them and snow the league they will keep on doing it. Malkin has a reputation of doing as such. When his 3rd man was taken away during their Cup run, I knew the league has really went down hill. This is not sour grapes because I would be the same way if I was able to get away with that crap.

Yeah, and on the ensuing 5 minute power play, the Pens can score 6 goals. Great plan!

Thank you! I see we share the same passion for the Law of an eye for an eye. The officiating and the disciplinary actions of the NHL are a joke.

trying to post a picture but don't know how to -- but it's like rolling a dice and then dividing it by 2 when it comes to star or good players.

I would like to apologize to Brian Boucher yesterday i compared him to bryz,i am sorry Mr.Boucher you are not that poop.Any of you who went to the game last night here is a way you can get your money back.Bet on the pens winning tomorrow's game by two and take the over.Flyers hopefully can get rid of that contract this summer. This guy played one good month this year,i mean last night he was not even trying especially that last goal he didnt even move he closed his eyes and hoped it hit him.The rest of the team sucked as well last night they were not even hitting instead they allowed the pens to take runs at grossmann.Good luck in the next three games without grossmann and with this swiss cheese goalie. When this season ends they better start looking for a coach who has some sort of defensive system there defensive end coverage is a joke they give up the high slot while everyone collapses in front of the net how many goals have we seen like that this year and last?I am absolutely embarrassed to be a flyer fan today
- richiewinthecup

I think Bryz is injured and trying to figure out how to play through it.

I personally am not condoning anything outside of the rules. Like you said best way to end this poop is to put em away in game 5 which this team is very capable of doing.

Win game 5. That will stop the headhunting.
- Jsaquella

I hear you Mr. Saq. My problem is in game 5 your going to see them target other players(giroux, schenn, couts). If you were them what is going to make you stop when you have nothing to loose at this point. Take out Giroux or Couts and this series goes down hill fast. From what i have seen of The Pens they are capable of doing this, and thats what scares me.

That's why you go out and just win the game. They've won 3 out of 4 so far. One more and the series is over. If they worry about cheap shots, they will be facing a game 6 or game 7. Go out and win, ignore the bullpoop and send them home. The Penguins are going to try to win the game, them gooning it up benefits the Flyers

As soon as the handshake line happens, I don't care about the Penguins anymore.

Injured or not, he's not getting a pass. Was he injured when he made the glove save on Letang?

Other than a few moments, he's been dreadful in this series, no one wants to hear injuries as an excuse. This time of year everyone has injuries. Flyers have a 3-1 lead in this series in spite of their goaltending, not because of it.

How about an honest assessment...

Malkin's questionable contact...(yes...I agree)...happened with the game 1-1 in the first period.

The rest of the game was played and I don't recall seeing this targeting you are speaking of.

If it was truly a plan...wouldn't we have seen it happen again after that?

Both bad plays. just because Malkin's happened during the play doesn't mean it should be called and addressed. Cripes Read got called for a rough on a play that was so marginal. Flying elbows make me so angry.
- nastyflyergirl

I tweeted that video to Bill this morning and he said he thought that it wasnt the hit that cause the conky.

I would disagree. I have seen that hit so many times.. and again and again its a concussion causer. Maybe that hit was the one that caused it.. and Batboys hit just exacerbated it.. and put him out (although he tried to play after that as well).

There is nothing about that hit against Grossmann that I find reasonable or acceptable. Dangerous.. dangerous hit.

I see this team being to complacent with a 3 to 0 or a 3 to 1 series lead. They need to come out they are down. They need fire.

Flyer are up 3 - 1 in the first round against Pitt and Sam donellon writes a book about how bryzs contract really "hog ties" them moving forward.

Actually, he hasn't been dreadful. In games one and two he was key to the victories. He struggled in games 3 and 4, but he didn't get much, if any help last night. He needs to be better, but guys not playing in front of him, with the firepower Pittsburgh has, will lead to ugly stats.

And if you think he's getting a pass, go to Philly.com

It all depends on what your name is. If it's Rinaldo, Torres, Asham etc.. Shanahan comes down with the hammer, if it's Malkin, Neal, Sedin, Weber it's a slap on the wrist.

If you want to to talk about honest assessments.. start by taking out "questionable". If that was Crosby taking a shot like that the whole world would be up in arms.. and deservedly so.
