I don't think people here are worried about the Flyers being called goons. I think they're first and foremost concerned about winning hockey games rather than "winning" the extracurricular stuff.
- bmeltzer

I tend to agree, but your not going to win with half the phantoms in the line up. I also dont think the targeting of our players by the Pens should be ignored.

Im sorry but to mee this was worse than what rinaldo did

- Philly1980

perhaps worse ... but not front and center like Rinaldo, who demonstrated for the whole world why he shouldn't be in the playoff lineup..

Exactly. Malkin threw a sneaky elbow. Rinaldo repeatedly cross checked a guy literally two feet from a ref, in a game that was out of hand, while said ref was staring at him waiting for him to do something stupid.

Seriously! Malkin is better because he was sneaky about it! I personally like what rinaldo did. He should have done it to crosby though!

Both bad plays. just because Malkin's happened during the play doesn't mean it should be called and addressed. Cripes Read got called for a rough on a play that was so marginal. Flying elbows make me so angry.

I would like to apologize to Brian Boucher yesterday i compared him to bryz,i am sorry Mr.Boucher you are not that poop.Any of you who went to the game last night here is a way you can get your money back.Bet on the pens winning tomorrow's game by two and take the over.Flyers hopefully can get rid of that contract this summer. This guy played one good month this year,i mean last night he was not even trying especially that last goal he didnt even move he closed his eyes and hoped it hit him.The rest of the team sucked as well last night they were not even hitting instead they allowed the pens to take runs at grossmann.Good luck in the next three games without grossmann and with this swiss cheese goalie. When this season ends they better start looking for a coach who has some sort of defensive system there defensive end coverage is a joke they give up the high slot while everyone collapses in front of the net how many goals have we seen like that this year and last?I am absolutely embarrassed to be a flyer fan today

so are you saying we should head hunt, but do it sneakily? that shows even more disrespect than at the end of the game.

it doesn't matter if malkin did it with 1 minute left -- he's a superstar on the pissburgh penguins, he isn't going go get suspended. Rinaldo has a target on his back no matter what.

Thank you! My question to the wonderful an civil posters here is:

How are the flyers going to stop the headhunting without sending a message? Shannafail wont stop it for them.

yep ... and then he smacks the guy in the face while the guy is down on his knees.

To paraphrase Dean Wormer: dirty, selfish and immature is no way to go though life, son.

You do realize Harry Z was like -15ish this season right? So I think it is a little bit of a stretch to say he deserved to be in the lineup over Rinaldo.
- ZHARRISON4

Ahh damn, didn't realize that...

How about you make Erik Gustafsson a forward, and put him on the 4th line

and if Sedin threw a blatant elbow to someone's head, its not ok. and if Grossman is concussed because of elbows to the head, its not ok. I don't care who throws the elbow. its NOT ok.

I cannot lay blame on the defense in this game really except for that bonehead play by Carle when he had the puck behind the net on a shorthanded play that should have went out and he didnt. The forwards literally stopped skating and put no pressure on the penguins and allowed them to attack at full speed through the neutral zone, what is the defense supposed to do with those forwards coming at breakneck speed with noone in the way, that is what we did very well in the first three games and need to do moving forward, apply pressure and clog up the neutral zone so the defense have a chance. Bryzgalov was absolutely horrible last night, you cant blame the team for a defensive breakdown on the first goal that malkin scored as it was a routine shot that should never have been available for the rebound to Malkin. The other thing that bothered me about him last night is when he got pulled he looked absolutely disinterested and not engaged at all. I would have hoped that he was paying attention and looking pissed off like he was going to come back with a vengeance.
Hopefully Friday is a better game all around

- Daceroni

Can't blame the defense, because Bob came in and posted a shut out in relief right?

I hear what you are saying with all this but at this point, if you let them get you off your game it's only going to play into their hands. I think the best thing the Flyers can do is play as physically tough within the rules as possible and be more aware of their circumstances.

Thank you! I see we share the same passion for the Law of an eye for an eye. The officiating and the disciplinary actions of the NHL are a joke.

Neither was "better" Rinaldo's was far more stupid, which is the problem with Rinaldo. Two stupid penalties last night.

Win game 5. That will stop the headhunting.
