you know Matt Carle will be playing 25+ minutes, many of them good solid minutes

its just when he makes a mistake it usually is a HUGE event, either a goal or a really good scoring chance

Exactly, the complaints against the refs last night are not pro penguins or pro flyers, it's pro hockey. Hard to enjoy a game with so many penalties and whistles. Get a bucket of water on those refs.

Bet you he could still move the puck, cover his main and lay the lumber behind the play. Very underrated in his career. Unfortunately, he was too injury prone. Seems like Flyers would lose him every year during playoffs... guess he'd fit right in again.

Saw him and his wife in the concourse after the game. Tried to call out to say hi but my voice has been shot for weeks. He went into the men's room and I thought it was too stalkerish to wait for him. But I turned and there was a Czech fan (wrapped in the flag) and I said, "Do you know who that is? That's Petr Svoboda." And he would not believe me. Pathetic! Man's a national hero and he's unrecognized!
