I found it amusing how people were calling for bob then he comes in and is imo worse. But from the play I saw in front of both goalies I didn't expect much.

Maybe that's a negative to Bryzgalov that he can't raise his game when the team is playing poorly in front. Either way i think it's become clear that if they play better in front of him he'll play better accordingly.

Bryzgalov has given up that many goals playing 4 games on a phoenix team that was way overmatched by Detroit and against a Penguins team boasting three lines that are good enough to be any team in the league's number one line.

Idea: So maybe from now on the NHL can get video and make it black and white to take away team colors, and blur out logos, player names and numbers, and faces. Then make Shanahan base the criteria just on what he sees.

But the scales of injustice may have tipped. Tyler Kennedy hit Flyer defenceman Nicklas Grossmann up high in the head in the first period. A second hit from Malkin to Grossmann soon after might have been even worse. Grossmann returned briefly and played in the second but not the third, finishing with just 8:54 ice time.

He is likely concussed. Given he is the Flyers most physical defenceman and their best shot blocker, any prolonged absence will greatly impact the Flyers' ability to make a deep playoff run.

I think they could survive without Grossmann (short term) if Bryz could find his game.

The absence of Grossmann with Bryz struggling makes me think they will struggle mightily from here on out.

Agreed. And Bob gets that excuse regarding the Pens lines on top of being rusty and coming into a game cold, etc.

Either way, Bryz has given up a boatload of goals in the POs and we need that trend to end.
