I'll say this much I think the Flyers are headed into a hornets nest Friday night.

Hopefully they are equipped with some Raid. I think bubbling cauldron is more apropos.

What are the odds the Penguins score in the first 3 minutes, and James Neal has a big game?

If you choose to go down that road...please proceed.

I'm staying here because it was not my intention to get involved in 'speculation', or feed some anger you have toward Crosby, Malkin or the Penguins.

My intention was simply to point to what happened and raise a valid question.

If the evidence had shown otherwise, like with Steckel, I would have admitted it.

If he wasn't playing the puck...I would have admitted it.

If he had raised his elbow as he hit Grossman...I would have admitted it.

Dude he spread his arms just before the hit come on! im dont trying to convince you. The penguins are playing dirty that the bottom line.

It was an intentional head shot. No bones about it.

This is the one thing that gives me hope in Game 5. Bob has played well in the Consol Center, no? In fact the whole team has. There is every reason to believe the team has flushed last night's turd down the drain already.

On the other hand, there are a lot of young guys on this team................

I'm so conflicted.

- rockychocbill

Rocko! Has the son changed career paths or just coming home for the summer from university? I think you were saying he wanted to be an athletic therapist.

To me the issue isn't so much the young kids. They learned a lesson yesterday sure. The bigger issue for me is the loss of Grossman. His contributions to the D-core will be sorely missed.

Take one for the team, drive to Pittsburgh and put arsenic in Malkin and Crosby's milk and cookies.

Theres no doubt in my mind the Pens score the first two goals of the game. I would bet a lot that the first goal happens within 5 minutes into the game.

I also expect to see the Flyers spend a lot of time in the penalty box.

It cracks me up how people suggest last nights loss was better for the flyers than a low scoring OT loss.

It becomes even a greater need now to not play stupid.

It doesnt help the league has gone full retard and is calling everything completely differently. Its hard to take the cheapshots from the pens and skate away. Say what you will but everyone knows if the Flyers did the same back the suspensions would be given out like candy.

The Flyers have generally won the special teams battle so far. I wouldn't rely on that if I am the team. Bryzgalov's play and Grossman's injury put a big dent into the PK.

Malkin might throw another elbow or two...

And Rinaldo might punch a waitress or random fan...

each person will write on a slant of bias. It is what it is. Malkin has a rep but it gets marginally called at best.
I would be surprised if the league looks at it. The Flyers are still up 3-1, they chose the right time to stink up the joint.
the defense will need to regroup. Friday night will show how good of a coach Lavvy is or isn't.

I'm hoping the Flyes play well and win this game. I think a lot of that is going to be on the shoulders of Bryzgalov.

last night was the worst way to lose.....but it was only one game and they have a day to regroup and refocus.

A loss is a loss but they are up in the series. If they cannot close the door on Friday, I will then start to worry...

All the power plays given to the Pens (right or wrong), the Flyers were fighting an uphill battle.

The Flyers are going to need Bryzgalov to play out of his mind in Game 5.

Sergei doesnt touch the ice if I am coach. Only in a situation like yesterday.

As much as I have, and still somewhat do like Bobrovsky he is scaring me. It is hard to come out, as young as he is and with such little playing time and be expected to calm the storm.

However it is painfully obvious the book is out on him. Shoot high and he has big trouble. He goes down far too early and is too far back in his net. If the Flyers are to win they will have to do so with Bryzgalov.

- flyer_nutter

He definately has to work on this in the off-season, but I fully expect him to solve this issue by next year, justlike he fixed his "issues" with puck handling this off-season. If they can fix that part of his game, then come trade deadline next year, he becomes a highly sought comodity.

If Leighton plays a single minute as a Flyer this post season it will be the ultimate irony, and I will be pissed.

My neighbor with the Canucks tickets thinks Luongo is going to be a Leaf next year.
He wants them to trade Lu for Phaneuf, which will never happen but is interesting.

- Marc D

I'm talking out my ass with the Leighton thing. They're going to live or die with Bryz.

As for Luongo, it's incredibly doubtful he would ask/accept a trade to TO. I see FLA or TAM as clearly the front runners. I still believe Luongo would have to ask Gillis to be moved. Gillis has stated he won't go and ask players who have a NTC if they would be willing to waive it. If the Canucks do pull off the miracle with Schneider in goal it just may happen.

I think it's less on the goalie and more about reducing the penalties, maintaining a good forecheck and play sound team defense. They need to stop running around and getting excited because there's been a million goals scored.

interested to read why it was the worst way to lose...

i would generally say it was the better of the two because at best the team knew the outcome instead of coming down to the last minute and losing.
