Does Torres even deserve a hearing at this point? Shanahan should just suspend him for the rest of the playoffs and 15 games next year. Would anyone complain other than Torres if he did that?

Torres should hire James Neal to represent him. Apparently, it's ok to leave your feet, target the head and hit an unsuspecting player who hadn't touched the puck in order "to avoid a hit" EVEN IF while you are ON THE SAME SHIFT doing the exact same thing to another player. Incredible.

If the Coyotes advance and Torres returns, if you're the coach of the other team, what do you do ? I say you go Bobby Clarke on him and send someone out to break his ankle. IMO, it's self defence.

This looks to be in the realm of a $2500 dollar fine. I mean it is kinda like the head was a target you grab it and bash it on the glass, but this time its just just a shoulder pad.

You skate into any object..boards, net.. anything. At the moment just prior to impact, you will leave your feet reguardless.

It;s like sneezing without blinking.

There was no clear "JUMPING" action.

I am not saying what Torres did was a good hockey play, but he did not jump.

umm yeah it was. TSN broke it down last night and showed it. Still a cheap shot, but his skate was on the ice at impact.

I don't want to see anyone hurt. In fact, I hate this playoff season. It's gross, crass and unsportmanlike.

No honour here.

But seeing Chicago fans cry foul but ignore that the 5 Keith got was nothing... is kinda sweet. Just the karma of it.

And how stupid is this.... they are now measuring this is "digital frames". Regaurdless of the speed of the play itself.

Wouldn't it be a shame if he only got a piddly suspension and they were without their leading scorer for an extended period of time?

Nice avatar. Love your city. Try to make sure it stays in one piece, okay?

But no the skate wasn't on the ice. NBC broke it down and it's clear, close but clear. The point of contact is the head. Torres' shoulder hits Hossa in the head first, then the chest absorbs the rest of the impact. When the shoulder hits his head, his feet are off the ice by several inches.

The kind of play you describe is the one when Campbell kayoed Umberger a few years ago when Campbell was with the Sabres. Campbell's feet were on the ice at the hit, and the force of the hit popped him up.

Blackhawks fans didn't complain about the Keith suspension. Some fans thought he should have got more and some thought he should got less. Nobody defended Keith's actions the way Tippett and the Coyotes are defending Torres. Even Shaw's suspension was ridiculous but Chicago accepted it.

Every team has a player who's been suspended for a cheap shot, that includes Chicago, Vancouver, and Phoenix. One incident/suspension involving unrelated players has no bearing on another situation as far as it being "deserved" or "less serious".

Bollig tried last night. The little coward turtled.

That d0uche won't fight so the solution is simple since the league is gutless. Someone - Could be anyone who can dish one out, doesn't have to wear the Indian Head - line him up and absolutely lay him out. Give him a taste of his own medicine. When he wakes up in ICU, maybe one day that'll make him really wake up. A suspension will not stop a pr!ck like that. A career-threatening injury however, will.

Can't remeber, when Keith hit D. Sedin a few weeks ago, were his knees bent and did he come in low??

I'm sorry, I thought we were talking about last night's events. I must be in the wrong spot.

Exactly...

Would StL & Hitch want to see this pr!ck bury McDonald or Oshie?
How 'bout LA & Sutter? Would they want to see Carter or Richards leveled?
Or Trotz in Nsh and if Erat or Radulov was sent to the hospital?

Someone, anyone take out this pr!ck.

He'll fight. Near the end of the season. A coming off a concussion, lil Matt D'Agostini spilled OEL with a clean hit, not even that big, and Torres grabbed him from behind and went to town on him (Torres ONLY has about 30 lbs on him). So he is a real tough guy. Not at all a coward.

Wait a minute...

What the hell does that mean? Until the point of contact he was SKATING which generally requires having your feet on the ice. He wasn't flapping his wings across the ice. At the point of contact he leaves his feet to make better contact with the head
