So friggen hard to say Keep your Head Up in Today's Game, There is so Much SPEED and Quickness today it's nearly impossible
Torres should be Done for the 2012 Playoffs Although If I were a Hawks Fan I would want him playing in the Next Game so someone could hand him a beating.
See Adam MacQuiad after Torres ran Ferrence earlier this Year - BruinBlood
Bollig tried last night. The little coward turtled.

sure is, personally i think the best change you could make to the NHL is simple, but would cost every team $income$.
make the rinks from NHL size to Olympic size...the players are bigger, faster, stronger and the equipment is all better. this gives some room for people to skate and actually give room to move out on the ice. 4 on 4 is lame, 5 on 5 is great when you have some room to skate.
my 2 cents - big_dion
bingo
also dont just suspend the player throw the coach in there to |

The players clearly don't care about one another, and clearly don't respect one another....so why should we care? |

This is BS, if Neal isn't suspended for the same exact hit on Couturier why should Torres be suspended? If Shanahan bought Neal's defense Torres should say "yo shana-dope I didn't see Hossa". Therefore NO suspension, gabeesh!!! |

Brutal hit but I don't think he tried to hurt Hossa. He did elevate to hit him but his feet were still on the ice. The fact is that when you hit you move your body into the player. Torres did that but as soon as the contact was made his feet left the ice. I think that was more of a result of his balance changing after the contact with Hossa.
He will be suspended for a while but I think it's very close to being a legitimate hockey hit. - riceroni
On what planet? Go look at the tape. Both feet off the ice, practically doing the Elroy Crazy Legs Hirsch.

not everyone will agree with the bigger ice surface but i honestly think it would help the game...when we play in the olympics i find there is much less hoooking, tripping, etc and the players also have a lot more room to make there moves, good passes, etc...seems like we went from having 10 players on the ice who were 5"10-6"2...and now its like 1 out of 100 players is 5"10 and the rest are 6"4+..
just a thought. and yes im exagerating but it gets the point across. |

that play happend so fast but i look at it as pretty much the same hit as neal on couturier. anyone who plays the game who has played it at any sort of competitive level knows the game is extremely fast. to call a guy making a hit .87 of a second after a puck was passed is unbelievable. idc who you are its literally impossible to get out of the way in less than a second. Torres was lined up for that hit when hossa still had the puck. and if your going forward in the hit your feet almost always leave the ground because of momentum running into an object. he doesnt even touch hossa's head on the play. i hope he doesnt get more than 1 game i didnt really see that bad of a play and the refs obviously didnt either. - boltsfan48
First to say he didn't hit the head is just ignorant.
Second, your feet generally will only leave the ground after contact if you try to destroy someone instead of merely running into them. If you come in low (knees bent) and explode upwards into the hit (arms and legs extended) then your feet will probably leave the ice. It's about respect (or lack thereof). There is no need for that kind of hit ever. Compare it with Johnson's hit on Sedin...coasted into Hank, feet firmly planted on the ice, no explosive upward thrust, just ran into his chest with his shoulder. Textbook, and everything that Torres' hit was not. |

Can't remeber, when Keith hit D. Sedin a few weeks ago, were his knees bent and did he come in low?? |

Torres should be gone for the playoffs. Obviously, short term suspensions don't teach this guy. |
