i agree its a tough one, in slow motion u can see his back skate is still on the ice when the initial contact is made, problem is, head shot. i dont really think it was a late hit tho mckenzie said it was .8 seconds late...i disagree, but then i dont get paid to talk puck...sadly.
- big_dion

I think a lot of stock has to be put into the fact that he put in ZERO effort to avoid Hossa after he passed the puck.

He had every intention of delivering a typical Raffi Torres playoff hit and that's all he had in mind, didn't pay attention to the play beyond his hit.

at least someone is! ive been picking my words carefully today as there are a lot of people heated up from all this playoff madness!

the ban bow im sure is already pulled back and waiting to plant an arrow in someone!

- big_dion

Well....with you, I think the ban bow is always following you, it's just a matter of whether or not you'll give a mod reason to let go of the wire/arrow.

So friggen hard to say Keep your Head Up in Today's Game, There is so Much SPEED and Quickness today it's nearly impossible

Torres should be Done for the 2012 Playoffs Although If I were a Hawks Fan I would want him playing in the Next Game so someone could hand him a beating.

See Adam MacQuiad after Torres ran Ferrence earlier this Year

- BruinBlood

sure is, personally i think the best change you could make to the NHL is simple, but would cost every team $income$.

make the rinks from NHL size to Olympic size...the players are bigger, faster, stronger and the equipment is all better. this gives some room for people to skate and actually give room to move out on the ice. 4 on 4 is lame, 5 on 5 is great when you have some room to skate.

my 2 cents

Not a typical Torres playoff hit... this was more of a Scott Stevens type of hit... But I agree with everything you stated other than giving torres credit for hitting like this

What's the difference? Ha!

Stevens is the dirtiest hitter in league history...only reason he's not refered to that title is that back then it was for some stupid reason within the rules to hit a guy in the head from almost any angle.

Steven's was a piece of ****

yeah lots of truth in this statement, he had him lined up and he was going in for the hit.

personally i thought hossa lost the puck, but either way, bad hit, it was high and hossa could have defended hiimself a bit if he saw the hit coming.

bummer all round hope hes going to be ok.

It's just another reason why the league was better off at 26 teams.

There's too many borderline NHL'ers these days that have to play like Torres in order to justify their existence in the league.

Obvioulsy occassionally good NHL'ers like Keith and Neal make dumb decisions. But for the most part it's the borderline guys that do this crap.

I've been around here longer than both of you. I don't see what was so funny about my post. The fact that a mod is backing someone who went out of his way to crack a joke at another users expense doesn't say much about the moderating around here these days.

Relax bud. It was just a funny worded post.

From my perspective why wouldn't you just PM Ek directly rather then posting on his message board asking him to PM you.

I'm not backing anybody...it was a joke between Big Dion and I that actually had nothing to do with you.

I wrote for this site for a long time. I know how hard it is to get a hold of the guy at times. Usually that is the easiest way to get a hold of him. It's great that you got a laugh out of it though.

Probably wouldn't get to play more than 5-6 games on a Stanley Cup wining team.

He's be suspended 75% of the time.
