hit wasnt that late IMO, i feel the rest of the hit was not good in any which way, but to say it was .85 seconds late or whatever mckenzie said is lame, Hossa was stick handling and he LOST THE PUCK - he was just stupid enough to watch the puck go away from him as Torres smoked him.
they may say the hit was late but .8 seconds is F/A when in real time, especially in playoffs.
I also thought the hit last year that Rome laid wasnt that late, but he got 4 games so who knows. (time wise they were about the exact same, difference being hossa was all up his ass and watched the puck roll off the end of his stick and then got hammered.
lesson for the kids, KEEP YOUR HEAD UP. - he would have been fine if he braced himself. - big_dion
Ya the (late) is debateable but if Torres hadn't have launched himself, this may be the same debate as Browns hit on Sedin the other night...
how many discussions have (we all) had on this site all year around late/not late/blindside, blah, blah... this is not new its just as everything is these days, analysed, slowed down, reversed... I was looking at the Flyers/Red Army highlights on some show the other day from 1976-its the same blindside crap...
at least no one is blaming equiptment and the hard shoulder caps this week. |

I'm pretty sure Crawford cost that one. The guy took a shot from the goal line in the corner. That needs to be stopped. |

I don't know about anyone else but I am thoroughly enjoying the demise of the Pens this post season. I am also coming to the realization that Sid the Kid is truly a punk and the league would be better without his spoiled brat attitude.
I know this will piss off a lot of folks but I really feel the "Kid" lacks class and is as cheap as they come. Is he talented? Absolutely - he is unreal. His character is what I question and dislike. If he played with 1/2 the class of Wayne or Mario - I could deal with him.
I am getting sick of the media and everyone kissing his ass and afraid to piss the little twirp off. Pulling hair, hitting gloves, sucker punches, having everyone fight his battles - have fun golfing this year with my Sabres - Jerk |

I'm not a Pens fan nor do I hate them............but I couldnt disagree more. I know you admit he is ultra skilled, which he is but the rest of your comments uncalled for if you ask me, and not even accurate.
When did he pull hair? Cheap? Peopletake shots at him all the time that are cheap, what do you want him to do, just skate away all the time? Also he does fight his own battles, he fought Giroux. I love the way he plays and I like that he is not only the best player in the world skill wise but I love that he doesn't take sh!t from people.
And remember, Im not a Pens fan defending him, just a hockey fan. |

I think a lot of people forget that he's also still very young. Yes, he has a lot of years in the league already, but he's still only 25. There's plenty of guys in the league that are much older than he is that act the same way. The only reason people are so upset about all of it is because he's been put on this pedestal with expectations that no human could ever possibly live up to.
And this is coming from someone who is not a Crosby fan at all. But at some point, you have to take a step back and look at the whole picture. |

Like you said, there are plenty of players in the league that act like scum bags......that's part of his game, but a small and needed part if you ask me. |

Schenn let his feet Sunday while lambasting Martin but no suspension was handed out......just a throat shot from AssHam.
Torres is a d0uche but that his was just not that bad. - LamontSanford
Schenn didn't leave his feet until after the hit, on the follow through, with both players falling down. Big difference over launching your body upwards into another player. Torres was airborne as principal contact to Hossa's head was made. Thanks for coming out though. |

Seems to me we're getting another cornerback or offensive tackle. I'm ok with both, even though our depth is way better at corner. |

I heard Buddy is going to help Darcy out by donating #10 overall so that they can move up and get Galchenyuk. |

I don't want any part of a Kane for Miller trade
I can't see them trading Toews...
If they were to put sharp or seabrook on the table I'd think about it though
If the hawks get knocked out by Phoenix,
They have to consider making some moves |

Supposedly Philly is looking for a 3rd for Samuel
I'd do that
Or move down from 10 to 15 and we get him
And then we can still pick a good O-lineman |

Don't ever put the words "trade" and "Toews" in the same sentence for at least another 8 years. |

I think we are getting to the point where they are going to start talking about taking hitting out of the game
That would suck, and I hate even suggesting it...
But we're starting to get to the point where too many guys are getting hurt
Would I hate to see hitting go?
Yes
Would I miss it more than watching Sedin & Crosby & Toews & Hossa, etc etc etc?
It's going to happen
Look at the NFL...
AiKman & Young retire early from concussions...
Brady & some other top QBs get hurt...
Now u can barely touch the QB
Now they are making rules to protect WRs, etc
But I still LOVE football
The NFL realizes that what ppl love most is scoring
The NHL will get rid of hitting when they realize the same
Clutching n grabbing will go out
And the game will be more offensively exciting
Will ppl like us hate it to some degree... Yep
But the general public will love it...
And that'll grow the game more than anything else the league can do |
