I read he was done in the WHL with the Winterhawks, whether thats true or not i cant tell you? I'll take Hall over Okposo, you would'nt? I like Hamonic but I'll take RNH as well. - Cptmjl
I'd take Hall over KO. Probably RNH over Hamonic, too, though you're looking for two totally different skill sets in the two so it's hard to compare. If we throw "drafted" out as a precondition and put Grabner in the fourth slot for the Isles, I probably take Grabner over Gagner, but I don't really know enough about Gagner beyond his stat line to make that anything other than a homer pick. I take Tavares over Eberle, but really like both players.
I don't know if Edmonton has a drafted or other under-25 d-man playing well on their team right now who could sub in for Gagner as a "top four young player." If so, it'd probably make it easier to compare that player to Hamonic... |

To me I could do without Amac. He looks lost out there at times. He reminds me of another JAck Hillen - kasperrko
Young Dmen always seem to have a crap year(hopefully Hamonic doesnt). I'm not a huge fan of his play last year but I'll wait and see what he does next year. We'll see what kind of collection of crap Wang and Snow see fit to mentor and be "veterans" on this team. I say we have a shot at first overall next season, where are you Jimmyc. I know he'll love that comment! |

Steve Staios will probably be back I am searching the league now for washed up vets buried in the AHL. Those are the guys Snow is targeting as we speak |

Hamonic is great, don't get me wrong and you are right, his age makes him even more impressive. Like I said comparing the two is tough bcs of position, etc but I'm taking RNH. Taveras beats everyone as far as I'm concerned but I'm biased. Eberle comes from the same mold from what I've seen/heard so that'd probably just got to whichever team you're a fan of. |

I don't mind Staios as a six or seven Dman. They could do worse. |

Tambellini and Snow both afraid to make a trade and want to wait for the draft every year. Both should be gone. - ses111
i wouldnt call it being afraid. the way i see it (both teams but ill talk about) the islanders are a few pieces away from being legit, so garth is stock piling bridgeport and there will be a time for him to make a trade or 2 to get those pieces in place to sign an FA.
i dont think there is any point in trading a top prospect right now when the team wont be vastly improved without the other pieces...the time is coming though |

The problem is though to get those few pieces the Islanders will not to trade for them. So he has to trade a prospect or two and I think we can afford that |

I love when people say its not time yet. When is it time? Would'nt you want a player to come in and in a sense train and mentor your young players, when is it (frank)ing time? . Not time to start making trades, sigining FA's. When does that time begin? |

With the Islanders that time came and flew right by years ago and as long as Wang and Snow are running things that time is never goign to come. PEople are oblivious that we are a bottom five team in the NHL. WE dont get better we stay in neautral. We pray for guys like Bailey and Nino and OKposo to all of sudden become super stars but we are going to be waiting a long time for that. Maybe we just dont know how to draft |

A few pieces away? The entire defense blows minus Hamonic. We didn't have a second, third, or fourth line for ninety percent of the year. We have one player who hits on the entire team. We have a coach who pulls his goalie with three minutes left in the game down by a goal amongst other acts of brilliance. Few pieces? More like a few dozen pieces. |

No offense but the Islanders HAVE to trade. That in the only way NHL players will come to this team. The building has to stop eventually. You cant do this for 50 years you know and get the smae results every year. I hate to say it but we are not that good of team no matter how you dice it. Or defense is not that great or offense is basically Tavares and Moulson and goaltending is probably the biggest joke in the league - kasperrko
how do you figure?
nabokov was more than serviceable this season; not to mention you were thrilled when he was resigned. they have 3 solid goalie prospects....dp is a joke, we get it but please tell me this wasnt the only reason why you said the islanders goaltending is the biggest joke in the league, please |

How can you be oblivious to the fact we are a bottom five team? All any of them have to do is watch the draft to realise |

I agree at some point you have to add pieces via trade, i am not arguing that. I just dont see the NEED at this time.

Nabakov is servicable, in essence we have to be happy with what we got and compared to DP and Montoya hes a no brainer but lets not think there is no question marks in goal. |

I love Nabby but lets face it the Islanders will some how screw him up. DP yeah he sucks Poulin, Nillson, and Koskinen still have lots to prove so we are basically going with one NHL goalie and a goalie who really should have retired years ago |
