Another team wouldn't have hired Cappy in the first place. But unless the Isles are getting a legit veteran NHL coach with a proven track record of success working with young players, I'm not interested in firing Cappy just for the sake of doing so and bringing in a fourth coach in seven seasons.
- Jethro09

I said the same earlier about not being hired. The next coach needs to be legit. It cannot be another unproven NHL coach but you can bet it will be Weight or Thompson.

or both are building through the draft as they should.

Building through the draft does not mean you never trade. I'm not even talking about a blockbuster trade.

It also doesn't mean you HAVE to trade. Nether team is a trade away from making waves.. so why make it... we have the players that would be traded for in the system.. wait it out... keep building & then you make the trade for what you need.

But when you need a bunch of things.... just keep building

Seriously, if they even consider Thompson or Weight as the next head coach if Cappy is fired, they might as well just skip hiring a coach altogether and let the players coach themselves. I'm tired of the "Mickey Mouse" BS with hiring unproven minor league coaches just because they come cheap and because they'll be obedient and follow management's directives.

Hall, Eberle, RNH, Paajarvi, as compared to Taveras and Hamonic. Yes I would. I'm just going by recent picks.
- Cptmjl

Eh, Pajaarvi put up 15g, 34 pts in his first season, and 2g and 8pts in 41 games this year. Seems about on par with Bailey, imo...definitely talent and potential, but yet to realize it all. Top four drafted, relatively young players (what, 25 and under?) on the team based on production/how they've looked so far in the NHL...it'd probably be something like:

Eberle, RNH, Hall, Gagner

versus

Tavares, Okposo, Hamonic, Bailey/AMac (if we don't care who they were drafted by, sub Grabner in for the fourth spot)

Look about right? We could probably use an Oilers fan in here to tell their side of the story.

No offense but the Islanders HAVE to trade. That in the only way NHL players will come to this team. The building has to stop eventually. You cant do this for 50 years you know and get the smae results every year. I hate to say it but we are not that good of team no matter how you dice it. Or defense is not that great or offense is basically Tavares and Moulson and goaltending is probably the biggest joke in the league

Good GM's do not let the season fall apart time and time again without doing something. The right moves can move both teams forward. How many prospects will it take for Snow to do something?

Exactly. There has to be an exit stragedy for this rebuild. There needs to be a sense of urgency to turn this thing around especially when there is no new building plans in sight. Wang and Bettman wants everyone else to have a sense of urgency about a new building what about a sense of urgency to turn this team around?

Pajaarvi did crap the bed but I'll take those four over our three(its hard for me to even discuss Taveras in this sense). Okposo as to Eberle. No brainer. Hamonic to RNH(I know fwd and dman), love Hamonic but I'd lean towards RNH, Gagner from all accounts is Bailey. Can this change as far as development goes? Sure. Amac could have a bounce back year? I would'nt include him in this, what about Nino?

Nah, just keep building. Drafts are fun. The "draft parties" actually outsell Islander games at this point

They HAVE to trade IF there is a worthwhile trade to be made. I don't want to see picks and prospects, especially the 4th overall pick, get thrown away for the sake of making a trade. If the Isles could land a legit top pair D-man who is young and signed long-term, I'd move the #4 overall and would be open to moving anything not named Tavares or Hamonic.

you are right I dont want picks either or prospects, but to get a legit player of NHL caliber you caould trade the pick throw in your own prospect since we have tons of them and land someone with knowledge and who can help this team

How could I miss it. It was gold hearing the same things said for years. I never heard any owner sound so out of touch. Howie had to fight from laughing.

Tavares is a drafted player under 25. I think he's the one matched to Eberle...76 pts for Eberle vs. Tavares' 81 sounds comparable. Then maybe Hamonic to RNH, Okposo to Hall, and Bailey or AMac to Gagner.

I didn't put Nino in the top four for the same reason I didn't put Pajaarvi in Edmonton's...his numbers didn't justify it yet. I think Nino has the tools to easily be in the top four down the road though. He just should not have been here yet, and I don't buy into the notion that he would have been bored and rewritten the WHL record books if he went back.

Liked when he asked if Snow and Capuano would be back next year. OH, of cwourse they wirr, of cwourse they wirr. Like Howie was ridiculous for asking such a ridiculous question! I mean, we all know Wang had a list of the questions before but the acting was deplorable. Wanger

I read he was done in the WHL with the Winterhawks, whether thats true or not i cant tell you? I'll take Hall over Okposo, you would'nt? I like Hamonic but I'll take RNH as well.

To me I could do without Amac. He looks lost out there at times. He reminds me of another JAck Hillen
