Oilers are going to be ridiculously good in a couple years, not like us . Three firsts overall three years in a row! WTF. Their curse has been lifted

I totally agree. All they need is good goaltending and they are set. Hmm maybe we can give them DP I mean he is in his prime in his career and a 100percent healthy he can help that team out

Well the Islanders do have to be the first in at least one thing every year. I wonder what it would be this year. hmmmmmmmm

You are correct.. Team.. still proves my point thou.

Granted..Edmonton is a worse run franchise then The Isles.. if that can be believed

Snow and Tamberllini seem very similar as GM's. I'll take the Oilers owner over Wang.

The two teams directly above the Isles also fired coaches this season. Go two more teams above that, and Minnesota did not but Carolina did. Not many teams are willing to do virtually nothing when the wheels are falling off.

I for one think Tom Renney would be fine with the Islanders, but since he has knowledge of coaching in the NHL he will not be hired. Wang is a joke. I really like to know what some fans are on to support Wang Snow And Cappy cause I want some too. It most be some wonderful drug. Either that or evey morning Wang sends out ninjas to most Islander fans and he has them inject them in the middle of the night with some type of mind controlling drug

I think the Oiler team has more proven talents then ours. I cant say that our prospects are better then theres since we have yet to see them play in the NHL

If the talent is proven, why are they last 3 years running & out of the playoffs 6 years in a row??

Do you consider Tavares proven even though the Isles have been down and out his entire time here? I think he's shown to be a top rising young center in the league. Same for some of Edmonton's young forwards.

I don't think it's that outrageous of a statement to compare Edmonton and NYI. Eberle, RNH, Hall (all over 50 pts this year) and Yakupov (likely) looks like a darn good group of young forwards to build on, and the oldest of the four is only Bailey's age and already putting up 76 points.

I think the Isles do have more prospect depth throughout the system.

But top young drafted forward talent to build around...not sure if Tavares, Strome, Nino and ? (Okposo? Bailey? Nelson? this year's pick if we take a forward?) will match Edmonton's top four as a group in like three or so years. Possibly, but I think if you put it up for a general vote among NHL fans on which current team/prospect system they'd rather have going forward, the answers wouldn't necessarily be overwhelmingly Islanders.

I was going based on this comment

You do realize that there were teams that finished worse then us & they didn't fire their coach right?

Which to me makes me think you do not want to see Cappy go

All that said...I'd be just as frustrated if I was an Oilers fan as I am as an Islanders fan...both organizations seem to be taking the looooong way around the track to competitiveness.

but the answers wouldnt really mean all that much either....they are all prospects or JUST starting their NHL career.

not too many people who would vote have seen enough of any/all of those players to make a "fair" assessment to vote...having said that, my totally unscouted prospect vote would prob still go to the islanders...but again, take it for what its worth, which isnt all that much.

(i refuse to devalue nino even after his totally unproductive (points wise) year)
