I love how this tourney is the seeding for the olympics ... so stupid ... half of these guys aren't gonna make it to the olympics at all ...
- LeafsfaninBC

Non of the Dmen will be there... Ward likely in goal.

Maybe half the forwards who are on the team now.

Not looking too good, maybe some reinforcements after some early exits.
- LeafMan

They seem to be going for youth or possible 'future' invitees.' At least they did when Messier formed the team.

If you look at team Canada they could have a full team of guys under 27 if they wanted to ... so many skilled kids playing right now ... can't think of another time when Canada had so many great players that are so young

So the final rankings were posted today for the draft.

Forsberg has moved up to 2nd overall, which means he will most likely not be available at 5th.

Which, as far as centremen are concerned, leaves us with Grigorenko or Galy.

Now, from what I've heard, Grigs hasn't had a very good playoffs for QC.

Sarnia got knocked out early which makes it hard to evaluate Galy in light of him missing the season due to ACL surgery.

My personal take: I think MTL will go with Grigs ahead of Galy.

I would much sooner go for Galy, and if he isn't available, then perhaps the best move is to move down in the draft if we can pickup a late first off another team as I really don't like Grigorenko and I doubt he has the nerves to play in TOR

I agree those are some of the reasons we should consider when looking at Grigs, but I mean if that's enough to for the Leafs to go for Galy, then don't you think the Habs would be thinking the same thing

Possibly.

Grigs has already had a few years to adapt to life in French Canada. I don't know if the Habs are as inclined to go after a guy who's American over a guy who's a Russian that already lives in QC.

Pat Roy's influence in the Habs head office and his future role will be a big part of that.

Aside from those 3 centres, it looks like there's a lot of Dmen in this draft, which, if we don't have the right guys available at the 5th spot, makes our 5th pick expendable(if Grigs is the only one left).

Hypothetically, if we have only Grigs left to choose from at 5, then perhaps we can swap spots with TB @ 10th in exchange for DET's 1st rounder this year that they acquired in the Quincey trade.

That way TB would be able to pick 5th

We would pick 10th (Guance, Teravainen, Faksa)

AND

We could package DET's first along with our 2nd(35th) and move up a couple spots into 12-15. Obviously we don't know if DET will make it past the first round which changes a lot, but I think that would be the best course of action if Galy isn't available at 5

Ok so what do you guys think is more likely to be moved this off-season:

Our First, or Nazem Kadri.

I just have this sinking feeling that BB isn't pleased with Kadri's lack of progress, while, if the right player isn't available at no. 5, that too may be moved.

Personally I think these playoffs will be make or break for Kadri, he may not get another training camp to earn a spot, and may have to perform these platoffs to stick around

A few years? Grigorenko joined Quebec only this year. He was playing for the Moskva system his entire life.
