Its not the discipline that angers me its the inconsistency.

- mvp0207

Its like a baseball ump who continues to call a ball 6 inches off the inside part of the plate a strike. Thats maddening but if hes consistent with his calls at least pitchers and hitters can adjust a accordingly.

But this guys is all over the place with his decisions hes making NO SENSE. If its about protecting the head ASK Zetterberg, Boyle and Miller how well there heads are protected. All three of these plays combined got 2500 and one playoff game.

Yet shaw gets 3 playoff games.

So explain how Lucic gets nothing on his hit on Miller. But this gets 3 plus time served POST SEASON games for an almost identical hit. yet Miller was concussed and injured and Smith is not.

According to Shanahan a playoff game is equal to about 5 regular season games. So Shaw basically just got about an 18 game suspension as a first time offender for a "hockey play" where a collision took place.

1 post season game plus time served or about equal to 3-7 regular season (remeber this according to Shanahan not me) games OK. But EIGHTEEN CMON. Its reactionary Knee Jerk and incompetent. The man has no clue what hes doing.

Why do you think this years playoffs have been like they have. All the lines are skewed and everybody is confused.

Its not the discipline that angers me its the inconsistency.

You're right, Lucic probably should have been suspended. The difference is Lucic is chasing a loose puck in front of the net. It's a scoring opportunity. Shaw was chasing a goalie who already had possession of the puck behind the net.

Totally agree with your opinion on the Shaw suspension, don't wanna see Mike Smith hurt either but he didn't deserve 3 games

Great to see Shaw is serving Weber's suspension!

Honestly the NHL from the moguls, GMs, coaches to players is mess with respect to all idiocy and mayhem that goes on. They express outrage and tolerance sumultaneously and this is what you get!

Thanks Adam,

Although I have to respectfully disagree with your thinking the suspension was too harsh.

I was on here after the game Sat night saying he should get a least 2. Why? No attempt at all to AVOID the hit. Smith, had his head down playing the puck, was extremely vulnerable.

I feel for Hawk fans in that this gets 3 games while Weber walks. Terrible inconsistency from Shanahan.

We need to drop the instigator rule, and let the players "police" themselves. Then and only then will the mayhem be culled. Can you imagine someone flattening Bernie Parent like that back in the days of the Broad Street Bullies?

Well you might be on to something. Looking online it seems Brule is sitting out for Bissonnette. Not sure I like that move, Brule was pretty effective with his speed on that fourth line.

With Shaw out, there's no need for revenge. Unless this is just Tippett giving the team a wake up call.

Well every Hawk fan seems to think Bollig will be policing things, maybe he wants a fighter in. I mean, Doan is the best fighter on the team without Biznasty (And Biznasty kind of sucks at that anyways).

Oh and Hanzal just announced as a scratch...(frank). Korpi out, but that was expected.

Raffi Torres serves no purpose but to hurt people, he has no discernible skill but malice. Great for the sport, putting another star in the hospital on a dirty hit. Park him for the rest of the playoffs or the rest of his career - nothing of value would be lost.

He has a lot of skill, when he stays away from the reckless hits he's extremely effective.

Well he's got 2 points in 2 games so far this playoffs, had 15 gaols this season and 14 last year. So I'd say he's actually a pretty good player.

That hit was not a good one though. Especially since I have Hossa in my pool.

Glad to see the Coyotes are consistent.

Consistently giving up goals in the last minute.

Looks like contact high on the body as the point of contact, not the head. Left his feet, considering all the drama and injury I think Raffi's gone for at least 2 if not more.

Given his history, its not a stretch. He looks lost after that hit anyways. No doubt it is on his mind.

So he's taken over Matt Cookes role. A servicable player, but dirty none the less.

He was so calm this whole year and played clean. I'm guessing he'll get the same book thrown at him.

I just hope someone puts him in his place. How about hitting him behind the head with a stick? Piece of poop.

Torres had a fine for an elbow on Jan Hejda and a three game suspension for a high hit on Nate Prosser. Plus his previous suspension for his hit on Eberle. He'll get nailed. Although with the way Shanny is working we might be looking at a 3 gamer.

Check out the video posted by McKenzie on his Twitter feed. Shoulder meet chin. I would be shocked if he got less than 3 games. Not that I didn't want to see Hossa get blown up (I did), just not strapped to a board

It will have to be at least 4 games so that he doesn't play anymore vs. Chicago. Not just for his sake, but for everyone's, on either side.

He's in their heads, the league will try to stop any nonesense that might come from this I think (One of the reasons Shaw got so many games)
