When this series is over, I will be pissed if Holland keeps this team the same because he blames this on "bad breaks". This team cannot contend as is. Change is required, and can we PAY someone to take Franzen? I am so tired of his worthless efforts.

I have never been more dissapointed to be a Wings fan than I am right now over the past 15yrs.

terrible feeling, not even bothering watching the last game.

Go troll elsewhere. People in here have been saying for months that this team wasn't going anywhere. You're not going to catch anyone in here surprised by these results.

We did after the 3rd, could have buried them in the 2nd... 41shots, 58% on the draw, 28hits vs 20.... but one bad play by Ian White, (frank)ed our entire season.

she's (frank)in' over to that crew built on luck, I have never seen a team get so many bounces as the Preds did in the last 3 games, unreal.

I'm going to watch just because it may be Lidstrom's last game. This team still has some serviceable pieces, but more serious change than Holland is used to is required here. He really needs to be aggressive (and not just through free agency).

Bounces or not, I don't want Holland to use those exact excuses. This team had chances and just flat out failed and then made some terrible errors. Credit to Nashville though, as their D has outbattled our forwards on the boards. Also, many of our shots are from bad angles or with no traffic. This team needs a makeover.

Agreed. Say what you will about Nashville, they bent without breaking and that is the difference in this series. Oh and Rask > Howard. Wtf was everyone thinking on the second goal by Nashville? But good for Nashville and good for Trotz after so many years. Good luck the rest of the way.

a rock could have defended that second goal better. at least it would have stayed in the net...

Howard is going to take a ton of flak for this series, but how many goals were really his fault? He's getting hung out to dry by the turnovers, and he's also had a few deflect in. His numbers look terrible, but his team is really letting him down.

As a Predators fan, I am the last person who things this series is over. Not trolling..I honestly thing game 6 is inevitable. Game 7 most likely.

That being said, Weber aside, if the Wings lose, who does Red Wing nation root for?

I particularly loved the fact that three players chased Erat into the corner like it was life or death with no thought at all that someone could be trailing the play.

I don't blame you for not wanting to celebrate yet, but I'd be amazed if this even went to 6 games. I think this team needs to just be put out of its misery. Prolonging this series only gives Holland an excuse to keep things the same.

i have to say that was the most underwhelming i have seen from Detroit. i kept waiting and waiting for that big push they always bring and it just didn't come to my amazement. i will take it though, gave me a chance not to pass out from nerves.

I'll agree with that but the saves he needed to make didn't happen, and the saves Rask needed to make he did. That is what this series boils down to. Wings have out played the Predators, but Rask has out played Howard.

I actually really like Nashville haha, if they weren't playing the Wings I'd be pulling for them. Was definitely pulling hard for them last year against the Canucks, but I just want anyone to beat the, the Kings are doing a fine job of that so far so I've taken a liking to them as well!

Like I said, 6 for sure, 7 maybe. On the flip side, that is all in Detroit's hands. We know our building will be rocking on Friday. We know the boys will be fired up with the opportunity to clinch. It really comes down to whether the leadership of Detroit can will the team to victory. It's all about emotions, chemistry, and effort. All of which Detroit has when they are running on all cylinders.

Outside of the Weber mishap, this has been the best series (minus the officiating) of all the games I have seen. Detroit's firepower against Rinne has been the deciding factor so far.

I am happy to see the Wing fans not jump all over Howard, you could maybe fault him for the second goal but you could just as easily blame Lidstrom et al. Stay classy Wing fans, you are already one step up on Vancouver and their goalie hate.

EDIT
sucks to run into hot goalies, but by now Red Wing fans should be used to it, it happens to you a lot.

I am assuming you mean Rinne, but look at the quality of shots the Preds are getting in comparison. The Wings are shooting with no screen, from terrible angles, and are just praying for a lucky bounce. No doubt Rinne has been really good though and he's not making mistakes. Howard did look dumb on the 2nd goal tonight, but what the hell were three players doing chasing Erat? Filppula and Hudler (and Franzen) have been awful.

Haha Rask is injured...and plays for Boston. But I disagree with you on Howard, couple of just horrible bounces have gone past him this series. He's kept them in games they've had no business being in all year, and had some huge saves this series as well. The goal where he got way out of the net was pretty bad, but White was the real problem on that, no idea what he was up to.
