Silverberg just scored to put his team up 2-1.. He now tied the SEL record for most goals in the playoffs with ironically Daniel Alfredsson

Could very well be. No one really knows. Unlike Brunstrom though, he didn't come out of no where. He was a second rounder a of couple years ago afterall and teams had their eye on him before he became an impact guy so it isn't really like Brunstrom in that he isn't a one year wonder that just arrived.

Worth noting also that that record Alfie holds is from 2004 during the lockout, when he was already an NHL star - not as a 21 year old

EDIT: The record Alfie held

No, Eklund. They should not break out the Silfver. The Sens should just admit they're in over their heads in this series and just roll over for the next 2 games.

Man, Rangers can't be THAT worried, can they? Trying to struggle through a 1 vs. 8 match-up... it won't get any easier for you guys...

If Silfverberg becomes available, I think it would be good for him to get a taste of playoff hockey. He would see how much more intense the gameplay is over here compared to the SEL, he'd play against the best Swedish goalie in the world (ever?) and give himself a better idea of what to work on during the off-season. As long as he doesn't catch a wayward elbow, it should be an enjoyable opportunity...

I agree- but I think a lot will depend on what happens tomorrow night, and what happens today with Brynnas (currently 2-2 with 7 minutes left in the third). If Byrnnas wins today and they can put him on a plane and get him here for say... Thursday/Friday- maybe there's a chance he starts or at least practices.

However, if Ottawa loses tomorrow night, is it really worth it to fly him across the world, and have him just make it in time (also likely jet lagged) for a potential elimination game on the road vs. the number one seeded team in the league?

Interesting scenario.

I agree that it'd be phenominal experience for him up here- especially if he had the opportunity to play in front of the home crowd during the playoffs- if that doesn't get you fired up and hungry to play in the NHL, I'm not sure what will.

UPDATE: Brynnas is now losing 3-2 with 4 minutes left. Looks like they might not be done yet.

I would want him here regardless, even if our series is done before his. He'll need to work with Strength & Conditioning on his summer routines. It'd likely be a fly-by as he'd be available to play for Sweden in the worlds, but I do think he has some peanuts and a small glass of tomato juice in his near future...

I don't recall anyone who is older than 12 saying he was the next Lidstrom, but he is just putting in the work in the AHL this year to ready himself for the NHL next year. He'll be a player, i'm not concerned. Too much there to not be a good D.

Rundblad dominated in the SELWYN and did jack shot in the NHL (so far). So why bring in this secret weapon considering what happened with Rundblad?

Why are you even talking about defensive prospects?

Is there a 150 pound defenseman you are looking at drafting to play next season? Or are you just going to have Nail on the point
