All depends on Bryz. Nothing else. If he comes out and keeps playing like the 3rd period of the last game. We will win wed. If he plays like he did the first 2 periods, we are going back to Pitt. Which in itself isn't a bad thing. Pitt will play their best game to date Wednesday. But, IMO, I think it's a bit too late for that. They aren't going to get the calls like they have in the past. The refs will be on high alert and not let them play, so to speak. If we can get a goal or 2 and Bryz plays very well. Handshakes will be made. It starts and ends with Bryz. Just my thoughts.

I think the perfect storm is arriving. The pens will likely be down 3 forwards, and one of them is a 40 goal scorer. The Ref's will be on the look-out for any penguin antics such as diving, thier slashes, etc... Plus we have the crowd, and almost healthy line-up that is playing with confidence. I'm not saying the Pens cant win this game, and cant come back in the series... they are capable, but the stars would have to align perfectly, and IMO the are behind the Flyers right now...

You'll see them together, especially towards the end of a period or perhaps an icing.

Yup. Bryz needs to be much better in Game 4. He has been making some big saves, but in Game 3 he gave up at least 2 crap goals. That can't happen. Put the boot down on their throats and don't let up.

honestly, this team reminds me of Chi town when they won the cup. They had real good scoring, some good D and their goalie made the stops when needed. We are stronger offensively, maybe a touch weaker on defense but almost identical goalie wise.

that's enough of a reason for me to not play him.

I did enjoy when Shelley beat Rupp to a pulp, especially after Rupp's comments earlier this year. He's a good teammate and a veteran presence in the locker room. That is his role.

Astute point Sir. He's played 30 games this year, and the Flyers lost 16 of the 30.

I blame Matthew Carle for that record.

If I were more motivated to look into it, I'd also see how many of the games he was inserted were due to injuries to scoring players (where a rookie had to step into the scoring role). However, I'm just going to consider this a study in irrelevance

Also, the salute after he punished Rupp was a beautiful thing

You guys are a strong 2nd period away from going back to Pitt for game 5. You always win the first period, but the 2nd and 3rd is usually where we show up. If you guys win the first 2 periods you're back. I just think we are the only team in the league that can keep up with you offensively. I think you have what it takes to come back and win it all. I just question the heart of your team sir.

Right. Assuming we get past Pitt, all the talk is how there's no way we'll be able to score at the same pace in the next series, and I agree with that for the most part, but I also know most people are giving the Flyers very little credit for the wins versus the Pens making all the mistakes. And that's just f'n crap.

The Flyers have been a high scoring team all season, have taken and drawn a boatload of penalties, and can get to any goalie in the league. And, of course, we have the wildcard in all these rookies who so far look like they are playoff performers as opposed to pulling disappearing acts like so many good players do once they hit the post-season.

But there is no doubt, Bryz needs to play the way he did in March for us to keep moving forward.

A Kings/Flyers final would be a script Hollywood wouldn't even create... Can you imagine it? My gosh. Tons of work to be done before that is even on the radar.

I couldn't handle it. Not that I dislike Richards, I actually like him as a player, no reason not to, he always gave 110%, but seeing him and Carter winning before the Flyers after the trades would sting.

Good points sir. People tend to forget we were winning a lot of games 1 to 0, 2 to 1, 2 to 0 and 3 to 1 the last 2 months due to more team defense. You can't play that way against Pitt. Offensively they are to strong. If you keep sitting back you will be down 5 goals in no time. You have to run and gun with them. Which we have been able to do. I see a more well rounded game Wed, from both teams. We need to weather the first period. We will probably be down to start the 2nd. If it's only 2 goals or less they will be scared to do anything with the fear we can comeback. And I think we would. But Bryz needs to be the man. If he is gonna step up and prove his worth, Wednesday is the big showcase.

The best thing Rinaldo could have done in game 3. Would have been to leave the bench after Neal head hunted Giroux, and taught him a lesson.
