I think Shanny steps down soon. I just don't know how you regain fair, unbiased order after this...and we aren't even in the 2nd round yet.

They need to hire Kerry Fraser ASAP. Its a job that should have only belonged to an official anyway.

Shanahan isn't stepping down. He's doing what the powers that be want him to do.

i can't talk to you if you think the biggest missed call was briere being offsides by 10 inches with 2 linesmen looking at the play. smh

was the call wrong? techincally yes, but it's not like it was by a mile. 2 linesmen looked at the play and ruled it onsides at full speed. only when you slow it way down can you see danny is offsides. it wasn't a conspiracy type thing, it was a human error. and an honest one

That's untrue. It was easily seen in real time that Briere was off sides. And he was off sides by a good 2-3 feet. It wasn't even close. So when the Flyers get a call their way, it's human error. When the Pens or another team get a call that goes against the Flyers, it's a conspiracy and the League is putting the screws to the Flyers?

and i would argue it was poor judgement, made even worse by his positioning and the noise level. everybody in the building thought it was going to be an icing call. the calls evened out. let's not forget just because the offside was missed, in part also because of the linesman's positioning, doesn't automatically translate to a goal. fleury had a chance to stop briere and failed.

the officiating has been poor overall in the series, for both sides.

And Coburn and company had a chance to play to the whistle. It's the same for both.

Sure there was a 'reason'. The linesman determined that Dupuis couldn't play the puck because Grossmann rubbed him out. It happens all the time.

The reasoning was sound, hence why it wasn't a blown icing.

The timing could've been a bit quicker though, but usually the goalie let's the d-man know that there won't be icing if it's waved off.

I don't think that was the reason why the icing was called off. Grossmann doesn't have to allow Dupuis to play the puck. It's a one on one battle.

except the icing wasn't 'blown', it was just waved off late and they couldn't hear because of the crowd.

Offsides is not a judgment call ruling, it's black and white, and it was blown.

And the Pens were crippled by being up 3-1?
