Nope, you're wrong. In game 1, Cooke blatantly got tripped through the neutral zone and Simmonds ran over Fleury, both resulted in no calls.

In game 3, I think it was Coburn was crosschecking and hacking Kunitz in front of the net multiple times, and when Kunitz gave him a pretty light retaliation, it was called. Staal got called for a very weak ... hook I think they called it? I forget if that was the penalty that made it a 5v3 PP for you guys, but if it wasn't, then whichever call that was was incredibly weak as well.

The calls go both ways.

Which 2 games were those? Dates and times, opponent and venue. Who were the refs and linesmen? I'm sure you have detailed notes on all of these variables.

Yeah, that was bad coverage. And Staal also had that one go off his stick right to Talbot for a goal. He's way off his game.

Also stood around while Jake poked home the GWG in OT in game 1.

Too many penguins on the ice. Even an NHL offical can see that (unless it is a game against the Flyers).

pens still continue to deflect, whine, take shots, and pretty much flat out lie in the media. amazing. i can't wait for this series to end with them going home.

I never said they both got a fair shake, but I'm also not complaining that the refs are out to screw my team because they don't make every call for my team.

Hell, the absolute BIGGEST call this series was the blown offsides on Briere. That should shoot your theory right in the heart.

paul maurice now saying the pens "adversity" allows them to "be a little bit of the underdog" and have an "us vs. them" mentality which they never get to do.

you could argue that the blown icing call at the end of the first was just as big. less then a minute to go, and flukey as hell. briere's goal turned out to be so big because the 3rd goal should never have happened to begin with.

except the icing wasn't 'blown', it was just waved off late and they couldn't hear because of the crowd.

Offsides is not a judgment call ruling, it's black and white, and it was blown.

i can't talk to you if you think the biggest missed call was briere being offsides by 10 inches with 2 linesmen looking at the play. smh

was the call wrong? techincally yes, but it's not like it was by a mile. 2 linesmen looked at the play and ruled it onsides at full speed. only when you slow it way down can you see danny is offsides. it wasn't a conspiracy type thing, it was a human error. and an honest one

and i would argue it was poor judgement, made even worse by his positioning and the noise level. everybody in the building thought it was going to be an icing call. the calls evened out. let's not forget just because the offside was missed, in part also because of the linesman's positioning, doesn't automatically translate to a goal. fleury had a chance to stop briere and failed.

the officiating has been poor overall in the series, for both sides.

They even out except for the fact that one leads to a breakaway from the blue line and the other leads to a scramble behind the net that somehow leads to a goal

it was way the frig late and in a loud ass building. and for no reason. absolute horsepoop. there was no reason to waive off the icing in that case

Why not? If Briere is correctly called offsides there that could change the entire complexion of the game / series

Sure there was a 'reason'. The linesman determined that Dupuis couldn't play the puck because Grossmann rubbed him out. It happens all the time.

The reasoning was sound, hence why it wasn't a blown icing.

The timing could've been a bit quicker though, but usually the goalie let's the d-man know that there won't be icing if it's waved off.

That's pretty sad. If you think one goal in game 1 of 7 affects the whole series, then your team has bigger problems. The Flyers have shown resiliency in every game against the Pens this year, playoff and regular season. You're reaching at straws if you think this would be a closer series over one goal in the first period of game 1...
