Every NHL team does its share of cheap shots and other dirty stuff, but the fact remains that Pittsburgh took it to another level last night and crossed the line. Even the NBC analysts (who are totally on Crosby and Malkin's junk) couldn't defend the Penguins. They lost composure and made some very dangerous plays.

Neal and Asham will most likely be suspended. Penguins will get swept and the Flyers move on to round 2.

Somebody has to or you crybabies would go on forever if anybody hurt your babies.

My personal feeling is that there should not be an ex NHL player or Ex NHL coach, or EX NHL GM being in charge of handing out fines, suspensions etc. I think thee should be ample time in between retirement and the new position.. for example 10 years.. this will give them enough time to be not to emotional or the public and or players finger pointing.. just my feeling about it.

just like anything else, a case by case basis. it's a super tough spot to be in, the czar of discipline in the nhl. shanny has his work cut out for him this year. and with all the outcries i keep reading, he really painted himself into a corner by not suspending weber. hopefully he corrects his error by handing the pens some stiff suspensions. not so much for the flyers to win, i think we all agree they don't need the help, but so the head hits can stop.

I hope the Kings sweep Vancouver, the Nucks are playing like clowns (not as bad as the Pens, but bad enough). I don't know why anyone would count out an 8th place team, especially one as talented as the Kings. Just a couple of seasons ago the 8th seed Flyers went to the Stanley Cup finals.

For the most part the Flyers players are tough but clean. Let's not get crazy and say Rinaldo is not dirty though.. lavi has kept a leash on him for the most part but he is far from a clean player. he looks to bury guys in the head when they can't see him.. very dirty player.

As far as this series goes.. Islander fans know full well how the Penguins are constantly taking cheap shots. They do it all the time especially at skilled players and expect teams to do nothing about it. When the refs don't call ANYTHING on them the teams have to police it themselves and that is when these types of incidents happen. I am glad to see them being exposed by the whole world. (Hate myself for rooting for the Flyers but I have been this whole series.. that said Brzzy stinks and is lucky Fluerry is somehow even worse).

Yeah, Bryz has not been sharp. He's kept the Flyers in it when with some awesome saves, but I hope he's much better in the next round.
