Pittsburgh forward James Neal will have hearings on Tuesday with the Department of Player Safety for two separate incidents in Game 3 on Sunday of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Also, Pittsburgh forward Arron Asham has been offered an in-person hearing Tuesday morning for his match penalty for cross-checking Brayden Schenn at 14:15 of the first period. Asham received a match penalty on the hit.

Neal's hearings focus on the hit against Sean Couturier in the third period, as well as the charging penalty he received for a hit on Claude Giroux later in the period. Neal was not penalized on the Couturier hit.

Things wrong: Couturier doesn't have the puck, isn't prepared for the hit, and Neal leaves his feet and goes up high.

The flip-side of the coin: nobody else in the POs is scoring like the Flyers. 8 goals in back to back games versus 0-0 or 1-1 and going into OT. No other team is looking offensively threatening by the above logic.

shea weber is a far bigger star than squeal. he also miraculously got off the hook ban-wise for putting petr prucha in the hospital right after the other suspension you mentioned. squeal is a typical penguin thug, he can just shoot the puck a little. they're all sneaky little cheap shots. i hope the league goes after the penguins' brass and coach too.

They're playing the team with the most goals in the regular season. It remains to be seen if 4 goals/game is the result of playing a team with so much offensive talent or if the Flyers goaltending and defense is just that poor.

I'm not going to make a proclamation one way or the other. I'll just wait to see how it goes if the Flyers make it to the next round.

I dont like what Neal or Adams did but when a team gets away with crap like philly you have to push back.
I dont like either team, and if they are going to call stuff call it for both, hits or sticks to the head, Schenn, Couturier and Hartnell have had their stick in guys faces thru all the games cross checks to the neck and above since game one.
Theres a reason why Philly was the most penalized team this year, and to think you didnt have pronger to add to it.
