A disgrace to all penguin fans MAF is a joke This guy faces the least amount of shots in the entire league and stinks it up If he played for a bad team, his GAA would be horrible This teams has won in spite of him not because of him Dan B must go That was a joke yesterday and the 3 games combined were just plain awful Mario better open up his eyes

Imagine if you guys drafted Eric Staal instead of Flower, and then traded for Marc Staal.

The most positive thing out of all of this is maybe now hopfully the NHLs love affair with the pens will die down and we can see some fair called games

Keep living in the past regarding the Flyers while excusing all the cheapshots, sucker punches, back of the head shots and intents to injure from the Pens.

Further, let's stop acting as if the Pens were choir boys prior to yesterday - that dog don't hunt.

Stop deflecting and own up to being a fan of one of the dirtiest, actress-riddled hockey teams in the NHL.

Ok...

Scott Hartnell actually complained to the refs that his hair was pulled.

Wayne Simmonds hit Orpik in the back...well after the Flyers scored a goal and the play was over...

Grossman obviously kneed Neal...

Hartnell went down in game 2...like he was shot...after Matt Cooke barely touched him...

But you probably didn't see any of that...did you?

I love how the Fleury bashers hid for the past year and a half, and they all seem to resurface now... Pathetic...

Same with the Byslma bashers... Everything is roses when he wins a Cup and a Jack Adams, and now he's awful. Right...

Didn't the Flyers lead the league in power play opportunities?? This would be the wrong time to complain about the refs, man

Edit: 2009-10 14.6 minutes per game. 5th MOST in league.
2010-11 16.9 minutes per game. 2nd MOST per game in league.
10.8 this year (not as much)

But keep trying.

Not suprising for a town that calls for it's back up QB after a couple of interceptions from a 2 time Super Bowl winning QB. Spoiled. Imagine if we hadn't won anything for 30 or 40 years like other cities, fanbases.

I wanted to trade for Rick Nash and Marc Staal... and then we could have had Crosby, Staals & Nash... If only there was a decent player named "Young" in the league.

its called playing with passion, they also took the most penalties.

THis comes from years of watching the pens get the calls night after night, the difference is that it is so obvious now the NHL cant hide it anymore, the 2 previous playoff rounds flyers/pens were the worst officiating ive seen in my life. How did you guys get crosby anyway, oh ya present from Bettman

The refs really did let things go waaayyyyy too far. Even with Crosby, everyone watching could see that he came unglued. Start giving 10's out with every stupid aggressive penalty, and if they do something stupid when they come back out, it's a game.
- rival22

The refs couldn't handle the game. I agree with what you say. If they would have taken some of these players out especially Neal, some of the antics wouldn't have happened. I think after the Neal to the box- Crosby/Adams vs Hartnell thing- Rinaldo hit Kennedy and got 4 minutes and game misconduct which I understand the reasoning but too little too late.

Sorry, we've been dealing with it all day, it's getting old. Playoff trolling!

But Mario's comments were never directed towards an opposing player or oginization, ever. He has called for a clean up for the game, and has also reamed his own out for theirs (Matt Cooke) And he has yet to be taken seriously, and here we are with injuries, cheap shots and and people calling out players and whole teams, league wide. So when someone not involved comes bee bopping in and says what you did. there will be some reaction.

- ryman1566

I understand...plenty of trolling going on with Hawk threads in particular from Nuck fans.

But I didn't post to just hit and run flyby and leave pointless insulting comments. I started my post with this: "...I was a big fan of the Penguins as they continued to excel and compete through all the injuries they have had over the last 2 years. I appreciated them more when they stood up to Cooke after his thuggery on ice the previous two years. This guy got the message and got his game under control."

I respect the Penguin org and how they handled cooke. Cooke changed his game around and focused on on playing the game. The results speak for themselves.

The Penguins and Crosby are much better than what they have showed across the board the last 3 games.

But what has happened in this series, Sharks/Blues and Rangers/Sens is unacceptable. I hold the league and the teams accountable for allowing this barbarism on ice to get this far out of control.

Well, yes. How can you not think Fleury has been nothing short of garbage on a stick during the last month? I am by no means saying get rid of him, but a portion of the blame should be placed on his shoulders.

As for Bylsma, he is being outcoached, has lost the ability to discipline his team, and does not seem cognizent of in-game situations.

Why was Neal on the ice the next shift after the Cotourier (sic?) hit? Everyone knew it would incite a firestorm.

You should seek professional help if you are here complaining.

Did you happen to notice your team is up 3-0 in the series?

It sure sounds like you are WHINING right now...but really have no reason to be anything but happy.

Also...check your facts...pretty sure the Flyers had more power play chances than the Pens the last time these two met in the playoffs.

So we're condemning a goalie who up until the last month was in the talks for the Vezina. Yes he has fallen apart now, but for the better part of two seasons he has carried the team.

Look at the play in front of him, yes a big save here and there would be nice, but how about getting the puck deep, not turning the puck over at the bluelines and giving up odd man rushes like they are a new style.

He's struggled, but he isn't getting much help.

They need to blame the losses on anything other than the team. It's the league, it's the refs, it's the illuminati, but it's never that the Flyers were outplayed.

Per @SteveLepore, playoff ratings up 50% on NBC. Great news. PIT/PHI posted best ratings for a playoff game (excluding SC) in decade.

He has been bad... but why single him out? He's been hung out to dry with odd man rush after odd man rush... followed by a couple of breakaways.

Sounds familiar. Goalies are weird, and for all the times a goalie has carried a team through the playoffs they've shown the capacity to falter terribly. A team's play can make or break a goaltender. When team defense is good, goalies can swell in performance and confidence. The reverse is true. The Penguins don't need to get rid of Fleury, they need to get rid of their horrendous approach to defending (or lack thereof).

Just my $.02

Are the Pens on the top of the list for most players with the last name of Young in League history?

To be fair, the Vezina talk seemed like a Root Sports agenda. Just because Stiegy thinks it doesn't make it gold.

The play in front of him has been abysmal, but sometimes a goalie steps up and bails his team out. Not so in this series - 9 more saves and its not 3-0
