When did Howard and Quick receive those contracts. It's based on what Howard and Quick had done prior to receiving those contracts, not what they've done now.
I also don't know everything in the CBA, but I thought even if you are arbitration eligible, you could still potentially sign an offer sheet? Even if you go to arbitration, that offer sheet would factor into the arbitrators decision since its by far the best indicator of what a player is worth in the market. - coldsteelonice
Wasn't Hjalmarsson arbitration elegible and offered arbitration when he signed that offer sheet in San Jose?

we'll take this town over one day. Painting Calgary blue one Canucks fan at a time.
Congrats - IanEsplen
Thanks man.
I said a couple years back, maybe the Canucks and Flames could combine to make one super team: The FLUCKS. It's nice to move there at a time when the Flames are so awful. How hard is it getting tickets to Flames games?
This sounds similar to Chicago and Niemi a couple of years back. The trouble with arbitration is that it might come to a figure that Gillis can't afford to hand out, and then he has to walk away from Schnieder without any compansation.
If I'm Gillis, I don't want to be in that trick box.
Schnieder will fetch a good return in a trade. Gillis still has Eddie Lack down on the farm, and he's a good goaltender. - EKolb13
Last I checked Schneider doesn't have a ring and he isn't considered the #1
He'll get fair market value for a back up. I just can't think of any reason he could argue for more then 2.5 mil per.
Look around, unless you have put your time in as a #1 you aren't getting paid
I watched that game fo 45 minutes it was 0-0 and Van outplayed them. I went to bed cause it was like 12:30 or so thinking Van should have this and of course I wake up and it was 1-0 for LA WTF indeed. There goes my playoff pool I had Pittsburgh and Vancouver in the Finals.

gets easier every year.
just kidding, they still sell out, Sports Chek has tickets in the nose bleeds for around 20 bucks but you gotta be quick to get those.
Soooooo, is the sky falling yet? There were a lot of you out there saying "oh my gosh, we lost two in a row, fire the coach"*sarcasm* when some were saying that this team had deeper issues, do you still feel the same way?
I thought the hit was a bit late, the puck is gone, Hank is tied up with his check, but hey, I can accept that we call this a hockey play. What I can't accept is Juice going over and giving a hug to Brown. I agree with Booner (even though he hasn't posted his opinion yet), Bieksa should have taken the instigator on that one. Legal or not, that's the way the league is, hit a player hard, fight.
I wonder what Wednesday's lineup will look like... Will AV go down in a blaze of glory

Eh, no. It was more like the Kings knew they were going to throw everything at them so they played conservatively. There's a big difference between desperation and being outplayed.
Kessler just doesnt get it. When he plays the game like it should be played with heart passion, not looking to simply get under the opponents skin by being a DB or draw a penalty hes a beast. But he continues to revert back to these antics and make himself look silly.
