I said it for the last few years. The Canucks need new leadership behind the bench. This series (and what Ian stated) only further validates that point.

Brown makes contact with Henrik's head as well. Look like the same kind of hit except that Henrik had his head turned behind him.

Brown hit Sedins chest which cause his head to buckle into Brown, Rome hit straight head.

The funny thing is the Canucks could do a full rebuild this season and still be better next year than the Leafs.

That's what we said last year aaa Blackhawks will win a game and make it a 5 games series than it became...6 than 7.
- Boinker

One slight difference, is the Hawks had to win 2 home games and 1 road game to tie it up. Canucks have to win 2 road games and 1 home to tie it up.

Not saying it cannot happen, especially if you look at the Kings entire season record at home.

If you look at the latter part of the season after the coaching change and adding Carter the Kings have been much much better at home. Maybe the fact they actually score goals now might have something to do with that.

Would you do that deal for Luongo?
- Boinker

Not Hedman, maybe Gudas and Aulie. But you need to take Ohlund as cap hit.

^^ This

If the Canucks can win Game 4 they have Game 5 in VAN. Could very easily (at that point) become a 6 or 7 game series.

And what do Quick and Howard make?

2.5 for 2 years would do it. He'll be an UFA after and will cash in big. He's an RFA right now. You really think any Arbitrator will give him more then Howard or Quick if a deal can't be reached?

Not if another teams swoops in with an offer sheet... Dare I say "Edmonton?"

I don't buy your argument that the Canucks have the players to win and simply have the wrong coach. Even before losing Daniel, I didn't think you were as strong as last year.

Very tough decisions ahead to sort out who to keep. It would be a mistake to conclude that moving AV fixes everything.

I'd suggest hiring Ron Wilson but it looks like the Pens already brought him in to run their D by the way that series is going.

How bout them Leafs.....

Ummm... maybe a top 5 pick, an up and coming team, and no cup.

Then you have the Nucks....

President's trophy, Good (not great) team, and no cup

Same result.
Leafs fans just knew it first

Please don't make a stink about that hit, that hit is what makes hockey so great. It rattled but didn't hurt Henrik, it was solid, no charge whatsoever, and his shoulder was down the whole time, and the point of contact was Sedin's shoulder.

Beautiful hockey hit, what's disgraceful is how suddenly every team feels like they can jump a guy for a good hit nowadays. That's exactly where the instigator should be enforced to the full extent. Not every good hit should have to be followed up by a scrum.

As for the canucks, what can you say really? No heart, no drive. Vigneault is a joke of a coach, the Sedins can't get it done and Kesler looks like a shadow of the guy he was last year. No chance of pulling out this series.

Fire the coach, trade luongo and the sedins for a nice fat return of youth a la Paul holmgren, and see if you can't reignite Kesler.
