Nemo was arb-eligible. He "won" his case for $2.75M, the 'Hawks walked away. Hammer signed the OS for 4 years, $14M with the big fish. Ex-Hawk star Doug Wilson, GM of the big fish put the screws to the 'Hawks and forced them to decide: Hammer or Nemo. Once the 'Hawks matched the OS, someone else would have had to be moved in order to keep Nemo. Though I really think Nemo's agent over-estimated his clients' value. He eventually signed with the big fish for $750k less than his arb-award.
