I'd be surprised if you got a 1st rounder AND a top prospect for him.

Would probably be a 1st rounder/top prospect + an equal salary dump from the other team plus maybe a 2nd-3rd rounder.

For instance, if it was Tampa:

Connolly
Malone
3rd rounder

Just my two cents. Gotta keep in mind that the feeling you guys have for Luongo is the same that the other GM's are aware of.

Come on now Andru...you should know by now...Canuck players are always the victims in on-ice altercations. They never do anything cheap. Complete angels who just want to go out there an have fun...and maybe share some juiceboxes and fruit snacks after the game. Nothing malicious ever done by any of their players in the history of their entire franchise. They don't have anyone who could possibly stand up to "Big Bad Duncan Keith" and his well-established mean streak. The league needs to protect the Canucks from disproportionate amount of vicious attacks on their players.

I'm an advocate of being facetious, but you're laughable.

They should have put booth on a line with hank when Daniel went down and stuck with it. We have no offense and mason Raymond isn't going to help.

Speaking of mason (frank)ing Raymond......he sure looked like poop last night. Worst player on the ice

- jakenewton

Remember how good Burrows Sedin Lapierre played at the end of the season... ever seen them out together during the playoffs?

Raymond is so bad, and I swear he played 30 minutes last night.

Hmm... I don't want responsibility I just want to give people the button now and then. Is there an assistant mod position where I can just like half ban people?

Kind of reminds me of a slightly more talented Todd Marchant...blazing speed, not so blazing hands.

Totally...beyond a fair deal for you guys.

Tampa gets their #1 starter they've been dying for since Khabbi left...they lose a good prospect and an overpaid power forward who gets injured every time he plays like a power forward.

You get to see Schneider play a full #1 role and get Connolly plus Malone whou would (if healthy) be a beast for you in the playoffs and possibly earn his contract.

Haha This is getting convoluted.

Just musing on the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Keith and Daniel.

Gotta admit that it really sucks hes been out for so long.

We're a different team with him.

I know Keith was just pissed and didn't want to really hurt him (I hope), but I still hate him for it.

- Mattjd123

Completely understandable.

To clarify, I posted examples of what I classified as dirty, cheap or just plain classless plays by Burrows over the years. When you said "No one missed any games", I took that as you stating that games missed are a measure of a play's relative "dirtiness". If that was not the case, my bad.

Keith's response to Daniel's own headshot on him was misguided. I would have preferred to see Keith lay him out with a good open ice hit, but Keith's emotions got the better of him. I believe he tried to go after Daniel, and because he was hot inadvertently injured him. I'm not justifying it, it was dirty and dangeroud and I believed he deserved at least 5 games, if not the rest of the regular season (which would have been 7). I'm simply stating that having watched Keith play for years now, he's typically not that kind of player. That said, non-physical players always tend to play with a bit of a chip on their shoulder against certain teams, and I think the Hawks-Canucks matchup brings out the most competitiveness of either side, which is what makes those games so much fun for us.

I'd take that and run. We'd be stacked at forward, but look at Philly's lines right now, having 4 solid lines that can score is a nightmare for other teams at times. Up front we'd have:

Henrik
Daniel
Kesler
Burrows
Booth
Malone
Kassian
Connolly(I'd say a first is more likely because of our forward depth)
Hansen
Lapierre
Schroeder
Higgins
Malhotra

And we'd still have a decent D-Core and the option to move a forward for a top 4 d-man. Along with a great goalie.

Makes too much sense for MG not to look into it.

Why not just trade schnieder and luongo, and make lack our starter well get a HUGE return for both and well still have a pretty good goalie ( EDDIE LACK), but we won't really rely on him with the huge returns we get.

King players quotes: This is a team that is not looking ahead!

But Quick, who has stopped 111 of 115 shots in three games -- a .965 save percentage -- insisted he and his teammates weren't worthy of lavish praise. Always a critic, he said he could have done a better job controlling rebounds Sunday and said the team can't afford to lose its focus.

"We haven't done anything special. Nothing has been done yet," he said. "There's still work to be done. That's a great team over there."

Now, after the stops and starts and near misses, is it the Kings' time?

"I hope so," Stoll said. "I don't know. You've got to make it your time. It just doesn't happen and enough guys in here know that. Once you take the foot off the gas you could be facing elimination really fast. If it's our time, we've got to make it happen."

"What we've learned is when you're up, they're going to be a desperate hockey club and we have to make sure we don't give them any life," the Kings' Anze Kopitar said after the team held an optional workout. "As soon as we have a chance to finish them off, we have to finish them off.

As for the hit, I won't even bother to comment on it and I suggest all Canucks fans do the same. If the organization doesn't have a problem with it or care that the Canucks best player almost got killed, why should we? No one stepped up for Hank and answered the bell, so why should we as fans waste time with it. The continual problem with this team is they don't have each other's back.

almost got killed?

Wow, I don't think I've ever had someone look at my writing so carefully! The blindside rule was removed last year, making this a clean hit. A clean hit can still be cheap. He was vulnerable because his head was turned behind him. A cheap shot, but still a clean hit. I hope this helps you.

The Burrows thing was more around comments about him trying to hurt guys, which isn't true.

Cheap shot crap? Yeah sure, but he isnt a intent-to-injure kindof player.

EDIT: Well-thought out post sir.

Totally. Very fair deal for both team, probably with the edge going slightly to you guys. Swapping Connolly for the 1st rounder might make it a perfect trade for both.

That's why I was saying earlier, as much as this hurts right now...every good team goes through this for the most part. Detroit has gone through and still does every few years. It build character, leadership, maturity and best of all experience.

Blindside:

I think it's pretty clear this is a blind side hit. But like I said, the NHL removed the penalty for blindside hits last year.

I never said it was a head shot, I simply said that his shoulder makes contact with Henrik's head. It's on a follow through.

I think blindside hits like this are cheap, but still clean. The same reason I thought the Rome hit on Horton was clean. It was a blindside hit as well. Given it was .5 seconds later. Look at the stuff Marchand does but doesn't get called for. Clean can still be cheap.
