WTF is going on with Fleury? And Malkin has been a no show.

I dont see the Nucks coming out of my series with Danny not coming back. Our lines are just fukked without him.

- vancity787

No idea. Not lots of help for him but he's let in some brutal goals.

This game showed pretty clear cut hoe much of a puss Crosby is... Crosby goes after Timonen of all people and G comes in to protect him and G and Crosby square off for .75 seconds and the refs jump in and grab Giroux... What a joke that was. G would have destroed Crosby and the league would not let it happen. What a joke.

I am simply embarrassed to be a Pens fan right now. From their complete lack of discipline and structure from a hockey standpoint to their frustration and cheap shots galore. I honestly hope this ends in game 4. They deserve to lose.

It struck me watching this game, just how much the Pens have played right into the Flyers hands. It's like watching a mirror image of what the Pens used to do to the Flyers in years past, except with a complete lack of anything that resembles goaltending or defense thrown in for good measure. Laviolette could not have paid the Penguins enough to be playing exactly how they are.

Asham should be out until October, chin/throat/collarbone - I don't care.

Neal's hit was late and he left his feet. Regardless of if the player was injured or not, that was cheap. Neal isn't a cheap player normally, but he'll have to answer for it in game 4.

All the scrums and fights and BS in the 3rd was the refs doing a terrible job of keeping the game under control. It's a playoff game with bitter rivals that stuff happens and should happen, but the extent of which was a failure by the refs and a misguided attempt to salvage something from this travesty by the Pens.

Bylsma has had his backside handed to him by a superior coach in this series. Nothing else to say. The Pens are just a train wreck, but there have been so many times where a coach could have stemmed the tide or at least stopped the bleeding. Bylsma has done neither. He won't be fired, but this is probably his warning notice.

Bryz is awful, but Fleury is something that simply cannot be described by simple adjectives. I'm afraid where his head will be going forward from this. Brent Johnson is garbage in black pads instead of white, but Fleury should have been pulled sooner or not at all.

I'll reserve my "good luck moving forward" until I see the handshake, but I will say thank you to all of the Flyers fans who have posted in here during the series and made valid points. I don't post often, but it has been enjoyable reading the conversations, regardless of this ridiculous series.

Sorry for the book.

Are you really going to take that chance though?

I think defensive upgrades are needed, and you need to find a way to dump Martin's contract.

- LordStanley88

Not everyone deserves another chance on the team. The bottom 4 d should all be gone, except maybe Engelland, because he's decent enough and can fight. BUt Martin, Michalek, Niskanen can all go. We all know the team can score, the forwards are fine. And Fleury would be much better off with a reliable backup. Hope Shero ponies up and brings in an experienced guy to handle the load more. A guy like Giguere, Vokoun, who's up there in age, experienced, and capable of playing 15-20 games. Thiessen doesn't seem to be the answer, and we know Johnson isn't.

Defense definitely needs an upgrade... A lot of it is the system, though. Even Orpik was a disaster.

This series none have been good. BUt we know what Orpik and Letang are capable of. Martin and Michalek in 2 years have done nothing but disappoint, martin especially. Engelland and Niskanen aren't good either. I hope Despres and Bortuzzo can fill some of those holes, and a trade can be made to acquire a real physical shut down presence.
- schiefer466

This is why I said I need some downtime.

Right now I would trade Letang knowing what he could bring back. But a month ago he was the best defenseman in the league. He has really disappointed me in this series. I need my emotions to settle before I make any decisions. ...Not that my decision means anything to anyone but me anyway.

Pens fans you have no arguments or excuses today, your team was as bush league and should refund Tortarella $20,000 because today your team proved him correct, Crosby proved that he's tough, he can grab Timmonen when he isn't looking and try to throw a sucker punch only when the lineman has stepped in, he's lucky he wasn't concussed today, now for Asham, he has indoctrinated himself into the Penguin goon hall of fame, if he isn't suspended for the rest of the playoffs(1 game) and the start of next season then the point again is proven.

BTW love how the ref let Letang score a few more punches on a defenseless Timmonen, typical let Uncle Mario's team do whatever they please, and many wonder why the nhl is out of control and there's no respect amongst players.

- HankdaTank

Hagelin really respected Alfredsson with that elbow didn't he?

It was cheap what Asham and Neal did no doubt but please don't act your team is holier than thou because that would be a joke.

I take exception to the Nisk comment. He shouldn't have even been on the ice, but he gave it a shot because others have been so bad. I put him as the 3rd best dman. Z and Martin should go to prison for stealing paychecks.....

I imagine Fleury isn't as bad as he looks. Bryz's worst time in the regular season was when the team was playing really sloppy in front of him. Some of his lousyness this series is the same thing. When the Flyers play a tight team D, he plays better, and doesn't allow those soft goals. I don't watch a ton of Pitt games, but I think the same thing would/could probably be said for Fleury. If Pitt tightened up, I think Fleury would be ok. Their total lack of a team game supercedes Fleury IMO

Ya, there needs to be some time before we can really look back on this. I'm glad that Shero is very calculated in how he works.

THe coaches have done little to help Letang. He's a very good defensemen, but asking him to play 30 minutes a game is stupid. If we had the physical shut down d-men I'm talking about, he could play a more reasonable amount of time, and his play would be better for it. They honestly ask too much of him defensively. He's got great offensive abilities, and is capable in his own zone, but not great. Z and Martin were supposed to ease the defensive burden on Letang, and that failed.

No doubt. When 4 of your 6 dmen are giving up scoring chances everytime they hit the ice the other 2 will play more, or too much.

They got us this time. We had their number for the previous 2 or 3 and we'll get a chance at redemtion. It stings though, especially going down the way it is.
